KFC — Restaurant in Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation

This was the first outlet of the chain in Odisha. Started fairly well, but over the years I've seen it go down steadily on several parameters. One time I went during the monsoons a few months ago and was flabbergasted to see about 8 buckets collecting what looked like rainwater leaking from the roof.

My most recent visit about a week ago convinced me that I should seriously be looking at other places. Ordered for their chicken legs and had reason to be flabbergasted again when I saw the so-called chicken legs, which have shrunk to barely two inches wide (look at the picture). Earlier the chicken legs were big and cooked well, and while I understand the need to cut costs, these puny chicken legs when the prices have only risen since then JUST WON'T DO. Plus, and this is also what's terrible, the pieces aren't cooked well down to the bone because it's that bloody, tissuey, weirdly pink-coloured, messy inside under the crisped-up outside.

Service took about 12 mins. That's okay with me even if it isn't quick for a simple KFC order. But, happy to wait.

Interiors are not immaculately maintained but they're not a problem either.

Parking is shared with the Pal Heights mall - first come, first served. Location-wise the place is very good.

But paying KFC rates to eat puny bits of chicken that don't even look appetizing within - no, no, no,...

MOST HORRIBLE SERVICE AND FOOD. We tried the outlet near The New Marrion but since there was a wedding parking was an issue so we came down to Pal Heights outlet. Mixed bag of cold chicken strips and warm was delivered to us, not even hot. Being Wednesday offer day we thought of odering the Chicken strips. TODAY WAS OUR LAST DAY TO ORDER FOOD HERE AT PAL HEIGHTS AND ALSO AT ANY KFC OUTLET. HORRIBLE FOOD, HORRIBLE SERVICE,NO VALUE FOR FOOD. YOU SHOULD SHUT DOWN YOUR COUNTERS IN BBSR. You are only getting a bad name to the OWNERS OF KFC. SOMEONE WILL BE STUPID SPENDING THEIR MONEY AT YOUR OUTLETS.SHUT DOWN ,SHUT DOWN. YOU CAN'T MANAGE THIS STORE. There was another person WAITING SINCE 2HRS, his order was ALREADY PLACED ON HIS NAME and the store people denied. When he showed his order accepted to be delivered, they made an excuse after 2hrs of waiting, that WE DO NOT HAVE ANYONE TO DELIVER the order. What the hell.. WHY DID YOU TAKE THE ORDER THEN ..IF YOU CANNOT DELIVER. SHUT DOWN SHUT DOWN. HORRIBLE PLACE TO INVEST IN FOOD. WE CAME DOWN ALL THE WAY FROM HANSPAL TO THIS STUPID PLACE. AND ONE MORE THING THE CARD MACHINES DO NOT WORK PROPERLY, our card went on declining. We were embarrassed, went inside from their back door ,got cash from the ATM inside the Mall near the lifts. HOW DID THE CARD WORK THEN. ONLY FOOLS WOULD...

I've been to KFC earlier at Kolkata and Delhi, as a matter of fact I was quite regular to KFC Kolkata out of my strong liking to the KFC delicacies...out of same enthusiasm I went eagerly to KFC Bhubaneswar a few weeks ago with my friend and the experience was very bad...Primarily, after entering the restaurant, an unwelcoming odour came to our sense which was of foods served there but such was never in other KFCs. Then came the worst part...we ordered Fiery Grilled Chicken...and when we were served with the same...it was no way looking fiery...lets drop the fact of grilled chicken...it was just like any other street food stall serving a chunk of meat deeply fried in oil with a thick oil coating when strained out sprinkled over with their spices to give the "fiery" status. When asked why it is so...instant reply was "What's wrong with this? It's our normal recipe!" But in my life I never had KFC Fiery Grilled chicken dipped so much in oil. They have to go way too long to keep the standards of KFC at par, which was supported my the fact that a KFC store is typically empty that too around 8 in...
