OOPRE Kitchen & Bar — Restaurant in Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation

Let me describe this place under th following points.

1. Ambience - 5 stars. This place has perhaps the best ambience in the twin cities. There are 2 floors. One to dine inhouse. The other has an open terrace adjoined to a closed dining area. It feels like a Greek home.

P.S.- for pictures day time is the best. During the night they have mist machines on the rooftop, so it gives an aesthetic atmosphere for hookah lovers. Also the bar and music sets perfect mood for people willing to indulge. If you can adjust the lighting on your device , pictures at night turnout to be great as well. But better pictures are clicked in the day.

2. Food - 3.8 stars. the food is good. I can only review about the dishes I have tasted.. of the 17 dishes I have , I find these dishes to be the best. *Parsley fish *Bali prawns *Inhouse salad *Tangdi on fire

There were other exotic dishes too like the khow suey, Thai curry etc. But they are an acquired test. They taste good only if you are accustomed and open to all kinds of flavours. For example, the khow suey is cooked in coconut milk. As for me, I really loved to taste it. But none of my other friends were that impressed by the dish. And couldn't continue further. So if you are in a large group, you may order the exotic dishes for a bite to taste. But most probably not for a sumptuous meal. . The nutton curry was good. The biriyani too. All in all the food was good.

3. price - 3.5 stars See it might seem that the restaurant has a price list on the higher end. But TBH if you go in large groups, it won't matter that much. We were a group of 14 people and we are voracious eaters. With all the food and mocktails, our bill was some odd ₹9500.. but if you are only a couple of people I believe 1.5k - 2k will give you a lavish meal. It's true that the prices are slightly on the higher end. But the ambience and food makes up for it big time.

4. service - 5stars. Impeccable service. Just perfect. One of the fastest service I have received in bbsr. We ordered 7 starters and all of them arrived within 30 mins. The manager and all other staffs were all very polite and also seemed to know a great deal about all the way the dishes are prepared and hence proved to be a good suggestion for ordering our dishes. It was truly a splendid experience.

I recently visited OOPRE Kitchen and Bar, and here's my take on it.

The Good

SERVICE The service was fantastic. From the moment we walked in, the staff were super friendly and attentive. They really made us feel welcome. Our server knew the menu well and helped us pick out some great dishes.

FOOD The food was a highlight. Everything we ordered was delicious and well-prepared. The menu has a lot of variety, so there's something for everyone. The burgers were juicy and flavorful, and the appetizers were perfect for sharing. The presentation was also on point.

AMBIENCE The atmosphere at OOPRE is really nice. It’s modern yet cozy, with a lively vibe that’s great for both casual and more formal gatherings. The decor is stylish and the lighting adds a nice touch without being too dim. The music was just right, not too loud, so we could have a conversation without shouting.

The Not-So-Good:

PARKING Parking was a real pain. There aren't enough spots, especially when it’s busy. We had to drive around for a while before finding a spot, which was frustrating. It definitely put a bit of a damper on our night before we even got inside.

PRICE The prices are on the higher side. While the food and service were great, it did feel a bit pricey. If you're on a budget, this might not be the best place to go. The quality does justify the cost to some extent, but it’s something to keep in mind.

OVERALL I enjoyed my time at OOPRE Kitchen and Bar. The service and food were excellent, and the atmosphere was great. However, the parking situation and the prices are definite downsides. Upre has been the talk of the town. Crowded to the T, happening people, awesome ambience, chic décor. The first look and you are floored. You would want to spend your weekends here with friends n family.

Service takes a downturn. No one at the entrance to help you with the table. You have to run after the servers for the table, for the menu, for the food in short for everything. There is an acute shortage of menu cards and drinking glasses(to drink water). Menu card is understandable but no glasses???? We had to request and then we got 1 glass for 8 of us. Later got 3 more. But this doesn’t end here. Within a few minutes the server comes to pick up the glasses and we haven’t even started with the mains as yet…. This is highly annoying. The food was taking more than an hour to be served. That’s too much of a wait time keeping in mind what we ordered was just the regular stuff.

The Vietnamese coffee was good. Red wine sangria was “WOW”. The hint of rum did wonders to the drink. The Loaded Nachos was actually more of nachos(it was burnt). The toppings did not suffice. Hardly any cheese or beans. Total let down. Buffalo Fire Wings and Chicken Nuggets were awesome. These got finished in a jiffy. Mixed Fried rice and chicken in hot garlic sauce was good too.

Upre has the promise to be one of the best places in town. All it needs to do is work on its service side. Ambience – 4/5 Service -...
