Review: Barbeque Company, Boring Road, Patna
If you're a food lover living in or visiting Patna, then Barbeque Company on Boring Road is a place you definitely shouldn't miss. Known for its buffet-style dining and live grill concept, this restaurant offers a vibrant and satisfying experience for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. I recently visited, and here’s my honest take on the whole experience.
Ambience & Service: The first thing you’ll notice when you walk into Barbeque Company is the vibrant decor and energetic vibe. The restaurant is well-lit with modern interiors and comfy seating arrangements. It’s spacious enough to handle large groups, which makes it perfect for family gatherings, birthday parties, or even office treats. The staff is friendly and attentive. They greet you warmly and make sure you're comfortable throughout the meal. Service is quick and polite – a big thumbs up for that!
Live Grill Experience: The highlight of this place is the live grill placed right on your table. It’s fun and interactive – you get to grill your starters the way you like them. The aroma of sizzling kebabs and tikkas creates the perfect setting for a feast. Both veg and non-veg options are plentiful. I tried the chicken tikka, mutton seekh, and prawns – all were well-marinated, juicy, and grilled to perfection. For vegetarians, the paneer tikka and pineapple grill are a must-try.
Buffet Spread: Once you're done with the starters, the buffet opens up a whole new level of indulgence. The main course has a wide range of North Indian and Chinese dishes. I personally loved their butter chicken, biryani, and dal makhani. The roti and naan were served hot and fresh at the table. There were also some good vegetarian curries, mixed vegetables, and noodles.
The salad and chat counter is refreshing, and there’s a live pasta counter too for those who want a bit of Italian twist. Everything is clean and hygienic, and the presentation is neat.
Desserts & Drinks: The dessert section is heavenly. From gulab jamun and moong dal halwa to pastries, ice creams, and kulfi – there’s something for everyone. The brownie with hot chocolate sauce was my favorite. They also serve welcome drinks, mocktails, and soft beverages as part of the buffet.
Price & Value: For the quality and variety of food they serve, the pricing is quite reasonable. The weekday lunch buffet is usually cheaper, while weekends and dinners are slightly higher, but still worth it for the spread and service. They also run offers occasionally, so keep an eye out.
Final Verdict: Barbeque Company on Boring Road is one of the best buffet experiences in Patna right now. With its lively atmosphere, excellent service, and mouth-watering variety of dishes, it's a great place for any celebration or casual get-together. I’d rate it a...
Read moreI loved the ambiance of this place, its interior and how they have arranged the dining area, but the area where the main course is served is quite congested. You will love to have a seat near the window. Now coming to food I will tell you first about starters. We had opted for non veg barbeque which they took time to start with. We weren't served with much variety of non veg items, i guess it was 4 only which they were serving in repeated mode. The fish was not that good in taste so i was having chicken only. After asking for minimum 10-12 times they gave me prawns, which was not cooked properly. One thing was common in all the items and that was too much red chilli. They could have processed prawns more efficiently, so i had to settle mostly with 2 varieties of chicken starters only. Service was not that prompt, it needs improvement. Main course has some variety to eat but they aren't that good in taste. I liked mutton both in taste and quality when compared to chicken. I would suggest to go for white rice instead of biryani, although you may have the biryani for taste purposes only. Dal makhani was good in taste, paneer wasn't that good in taste. Chicken momos are also served there but they are not good in taste, even the pani puri are not good in taste. They have a wide option of desert in bakey times. Gulab jamun was not good in taste. I recommend having pan flavored ice cream and pan flavoured drink shot, both were good in taste. If you are planning to go in a group or big family gathering then plan to take upto 12-14 only as they don't have big space for bigger groups, you may have to adjust in different tables instead of combined tables. For couples this place...
Read moreWent there for the first time, as soon as you get there, they will assign you a table (come there before time if you want a facade facing table). The waiter asked us for our preference right away and took our beverage orders. The barbecue items were fine, prawns were way too charred so it kinda spoiled our mood. It gave us a speedy service which was nice since our bbq was refilling right away. We had also asked for salsa potato. The first serving that we had was great so we asked for another serving, little did we know how bad it would turn out, it had ROTTEN potatoes, which totally spoiled our mood and excitement. We ordered Mojito and Blue Lagoon, both of them were great and refreshing. They also offer Pani Puri, Pizza and Momos which were good. I had chicken pan pizza and it was cheesy and hand a nice crust. Coming to the main course and oh God it was just a disaster. The chilli chicken pieces were already small and had bones in them, noodles were meh, and mutton was hard. The only good thing I had in Bbq Co was their Brownie, it was just perfect. Not too sweet, not too dense, just perfect. Coming to the conclusion, was it worth? Well maybe not for me as I had better food and service in other similar restaurants. But hey, you can still go there and have an experience of your own.
Also be aware that the security guard who was at the compound will come to you asking for money/tip for nothing at all. We were on our way to get into the cab when that security guard knocked our windows out of nowhere and asked...
