I googled, "best bakeries in chandigarh" and Kanel Scandinavian bakery showed up and it was rightly listed under the best bakeries. 'Kanel' is a Swedish word meaning cinnamon, a very important spice in Scandinavian desserts.This bakery is located in the heart of sector 7 very close to cafes like Scola and Sicily. It's a small bakery which offers a wide range of pastries and coffees. They serve very delicious looking croissants as well. According to God of information (Google), this bakery is owned by Aprajita Singh (a little bit of Instagram stalking has been done for this review) What all I ordered-

1. Carrot cake- I read a lot about their carrot cakes on reddit and google reviews. So I was sure that I am gonna try that. But when I saw the beautiful Tiramisu, I wasn't sure anymore. But I trusted the choice of random food lovers of reddit and decided to go ahead with the carrot cake and lemme tell you, trusting a stranger never tasted better than that. The cake was soft, delicious and the right amount of sweet.
2. Iced Macchiato - If I can go back in time and change something about this experience is the coffee. Mind you, it's not that the coffee was bad. It was my fault. I am new to the world of coffee and I am still experimenting. I ordered Macchiato which has 1-2 spoons of milk. I haven't developed a taste for milk-less coffee yet so I just gulped it down. Next time when I go there I am going to make sure to order something with milk and reallllyyy enjoy it.

Do I recommend the place?? A big yes, it's a perfect place for good coffee and good pastries.. Go for a date, go with friends, go alone, take the burden of your dreams and your parents expectations with you and forget it all with every bite of...

Valrhona Chocolate Raspberries Sticky Cake @kanelscandinavianbakery

If you could gauge by the pic of how goeey, sticky and rich this cake is, you'd probably rush to Kanel right away; and you must because it gets sold out by early evening every single day!!

The rich, creamy & goeey cake engulfs your tongue in a chocolatey embrace just refusing to let go; and if you're a Chocolate junkie, this is a sure Foodgasm!

And just before the chocolate taste gets overwhelming on your palate, the Tart Raspberries add a fair bit of acidity pushing you for another bite of this incredibly delicious cake!

By the time you figure out how the flavors work; the addiction sets in making it nearly impossible to stop taking spoonfuls one after the other!

It was only a nudge from my friend mentioning the weight gain that I stopped, BUT not before polishing off a second slice during this Chocolate induced trance eating!!

As for the addiction, I did drive back to Kanel twice; even though it meant a long detour BUT couldn't get my hands on this again! You'd be lucky to find this after 5 PM.

Then why wait? Dessert...
