The Management team of Gadh Kalewa is exceptionally POOR.
FOOD: Being eaten there for 1.5 Months continuously, I can without a doubt say that they need to WORK A LOT, especially on their THALI. I have experienced the quality of food to be only decreasing as GADH KALEWA is rising to a new height. Vegetables have become extremely oily, unhealthy, and overly spiced just opposite to authentic C.G food. The quality of rice has also declined. Chapatis are not properly cooked most of the time. They usually add extra salt to either Daal or sabzi. For dessert, they just give KHAJA every day as if saving other sweets like kari laddu, Arsa roti, Gulgula bhajiya, and khurmi, etc just for sale purposes. No variations in the dessert at all. Way back they used to serve Sewai, and Suji halwa too. But they are now extinct from their thali.
SERVICES: Believe me, it's WORST and UNPROFESSIONAL. You will go and sit for your thali but they do not care at all. They just gossip with each other or prepare orders for Swiggy only. You have to wait for a long time or keep reminding them of your order. Frequently they forget to add a few food items like Chousela or dessert or even chapati. I found most of the workers to be very IGNORANT, RUDE, NON-WELCOMING, ILL-SPOKEN, FRUSTRATED AND NOT LOVING AT ALL. They talk to their guests very rudely. Make strange faces out of anger.
ENVIRONMENT: Sometimes you will find it to be properly cleaned. But most of the time it's not. It's a crowded place. The bench on which food is served remains dirty. No maintenance. You have to call them for cleaning and they do not even come. It seems like the Worker and management do not love their jobs.
Even after all this, it's running well out of the love for our Chhattisgarhi food items and culture, despite not representing...
Read moreAnother hunt for cultural cuisine, I and my family ended up here for Chhattisgarhi cuisine at Raipur! The food was delicious and simple. That was appealing to me. However, there was no non-veg food. I kept thinking that when did tribals become savarna-pleasing vegetarians! 😅 Coming to service, it was a self-service place. However, the restaurant personnel while on her rounds was picking salads, eating, and again picking salad from the Chhattisgarhi Thali section. That was not acceptable hygiene-wise. In respect to the atmosphere, it was well decorated and very well thought out to represent the culture, however, guests who had eaten kept their plates left on the table and flies were hovering. So it's a bit disorganised. Overall, the food was tasty and kudos to those hardworking ladies cooking such nice food. It was also very comfortable on the purse. On the other note, from the UPI payment that we made, it wasn't run by Chhattisgarhi tribal women. The owner seemed to be from the savarna group. So I wish tribals have their own representation rather than being appropriated by in their...
