"Ye Baris hai boondon ki, koi khwaish hai chup chup si"😆
After months of seeing Baris's name pass by on Zomato's restaurant listing, I was finally able to convince my family to try the world of middle Eastern delights(authentic to the boot).
The place is located near Kohinoor Mall, in Greater Kailash 3; right opposite GK-2 surrounded by The Velvet Room and LIT Restrobar. Finding a good parking spot proved to be a bit of a hassle but we did not let that deter our high spirits.
After taking a small elevator ride(I was surprised as well) were very greeted into a spacious well decorated lobby which housed the bar and seating of the joint. The lobby's ambience was further accentuated by the light music playing in the background and the faint smell of fragrant perfumes in the air.
The service was crisp and prompt with both the lobby staff and manager helping us in our menu selection and answer our curious questions.
We started our food journey with ordering Izgara Peynir, Shish Tavuk, Ispanakli Pide(Turkish Pizza💙). The cottage cheese(Paneer) used in the dish although not individually spiced went well with the gravy in the dish, taking up its flavours and richness. The Shish tavuk was decent in its flavours, with the chicken well cooked but the star of the this dish has to be the yoghurt dip. My love from this selection has to be the beg Turkish Pizza; Ispanakli with its well cooked thin crust and well spread toppings and sauce. The yoghurt dip worked wonders with this as well.
All this tasty food had opened us up to further explore this cuisine and we ended up ordering Suruklu Pide(Lamb Turkish Pizza) and Non-Veg Rhilav(Turkish Biryani). The Lamb pizza has succulent and okay-ish(Found the veg pizza better) but the Turkish biryani, filled with pine nuts, black currents and fried onions was the star of our main course. The raita and salad served with this was the perfect accompaniment of the Biryani's flavours.
A meal of this magnitude and flavour had to end of great note and it surely it. For that all important dessert, we ordered Baklava Duo, which comprised of pistachio and normal baklava. The flaky pastries filled with nuts and an perfectly sweetened was a hit with my mother. My favourite dessert has to be Figamisu; which was a glass dish filled with cookies, mascarpone cream, Turkish coffee(☕) and dark rum. The dance of flavours in this glass did wonders on my palate, with a soft sigh of happiness escaping my lips after every bite. Truly a marvelous creation💙
Our meal and adventure ended with the PERFECT dark Turkish coffee, washing my palate with goodness as we take a elevator ride down to the front gates and leave with a filled stomach and big smiles on our faces.
My rating: 5/5 | Need to visit again and indulge...
