Not quite wheelchair accessible as the website indicates. The food is good and so is the service, but we would've preferred to have known ahead of time what they meant by wheelchair access. There are two safety barriers -- one about 50 meters from the entrance to restaurant and another that is about 75 meters before that near the parking lot. The parking lot itself is not paved well and it is a challenge to move the wheelchair from the car to the paved path towards the restaurant. The wheelchair "access" is provided by 3-4 healthy guys who lift the wheelchair with the person in it above the barriers and down three steps on the other side. We are thankful to the guys who were willing to do that, but my wife would rather not have the "flying" experience in the wheelchair. Similarly the toilets are not wheelchair accessible -- one has to take an elevator that barely fits the wheelchair, and then there are 2 steps with no railing for going to the passage leading to toilets, there are no toilet that are designed for physically challenged people. Again, the waiter was very helpful in assisting us in having my wife go up the steps, but really a ramp should have been provided. We had selected to go there based on our previous visit few (several?) years ago when the restaurant had a separate location upstairs. Now it is combined with "Oh Calcutta" -- all the decor inside is Calcutta memorabilia, only the statues outside the entrance are from original Mainland China. There are separate menus available for Oh Calcutta and Mainland China. The menu for Mainland China appeared to be shorter than what we remembered from our visit years ago. The food is good but not quite as good as we remembered from our previous visit. The host was very helpful in having a dish put together that was not on the menu but met our specifications. Guess the interest in quality Chinese cuisine locally has gone down forcing the owners to downsize and merge the restaurant into...
Read moreMainland China was a Famous Food Joint few years back, however in 2025with new year its only one of its kindly operating in the far southern interior of Delhi GK2.
The Lift Landing area /Entrance of the restaurant(2nd Floor) has Dirty Dishes / plates kept on a tray jack to welcome new guests.....
Its little weird located inside a complex with weird entrance. With New year eve it was a Buffet and A La Carte. We opted for buffet even though we are not heavy eaters, the variety and options were more in various meats, vegetable etc..
This was apprised to the executive chef as well, he listened calmly and went away......
The food was more over like a Indo Chinese affair with More Sweet tickle on the taste buds, in contrast to a Sichuan Province food in my imagination... Starters and dim sums were mediocre but main course however disappointed me to the core.
I opted for More of salad and minuscule amount of Chicken and noodle as my staple diet.
Dessert was good for a change, mango pudding, creme caramel how ever darsan was again below expectation.
The extra Beverage which we ordered was Aerated Beverage (Coke) which was poured from a 2 Liter Pet Bottle in a thin filthy looking glass without ice and 200 ML. Well this was the biggest turn OFF for me as paying 165 ++ taxes i could not get a Crispy Chilled Coke Can with Ice poured in a Tom Collins /Hi Ball Glass to have a great soft beverage experience...
Over all i am not enticed to return ever neither for food nor for beverages.
Hawkers in some parts of Delhi serve better food than this up market...
Read moreFood: 5/5 We ordered 8 vege soup, veg dumplings, chili paneer, clay pot, rice, Hakka noodles and mango pudding. The vege soup was nicely thick and flavorful. The dumplings were well stuffed with wholesome minced veges and the outer skin was thin and smooth - almost melting in the mouth as a whole. The paneer, crunchy thin layer on the outside with a soft core, had uniformly absorbed the chilli black bean sauce and lay cozy in a bed of well sautéed veges. The clay pot was also thick and sumptuous with a variety of well cooked veges and nice flavor profile. Both the rice and noodles were light and airy and went really well with the gravy along with tantalizing spectrum of sauces! Khimchi also had a very fine blend of flavors. Given the perfectionism of the main menu, the mango pudding felt a bit thick and less mangoey and minty but no complains in an otherwise fine culinary display!
Service: 5/5 The servers were professional courteous and promptly available. They also provided good recommendations and were considerate to our dietary needs.
Ambiance: 5/5 Very nice fine dining experience. The dining area was large and spacious with nice decor throughout.
Value: 5/5 Without drinks, we billed at about 1k pp with some left overs for another meal. Given all above factors it’s definitely worth it!
Sustainability: 5/5 Everything used was reusable including cutlery and table cloth so no...
