From my current record, I think I'm gonna end up trying every branch that Biryani By Kilo has under it's belt. I was staying at my sister's whose husband is a hardcore punjabi and probably needs butter chicken and a glass of whiskey to end his day with. Punjabis are very particular about their food and when it's a Sunday, which it was, they need a good meal to end their day with. Risking my life and my sister's marriage (too extra but that's us Punjabis in a nutshell), I ordered again from this place which is also my default order, 1/2 kg Chicken Biryani, Paneer Pasanda with Ulta Tawa Parantha and finally 1/2 kg phirni.
The food came in their usual packing which amazed everyone at my sister's, they were impressed with the concept of tea lights and everything was tightly sealed especially the handi that the biryani came in.
As the biryani was being heaten up, we started off with Paneer Pasanda, which to me felt a bit dry. The gravy was no doubt smooth but the paneer was really hard to break into, but my sister's husband loved it and called it an ideal alternative to Butter Chicken, which is like getting Pakistan to chant Jai Mata Di, it's next to impossible.
The biryani was served and everyone, literally I could see everyone licking their fingers like it's the last time they'll ever eat something of this sort. The aroma, rich taste, the kick of spices, fluffy rice and the sweetness of caremelised onions were to die for.
To top it up, the phirni was oh so good, it was like the happy ending this meal needed.
The 4th time doesn't seem...

He says ye toh puri khali hai ...and I was shocked cz it still had nearly 4 pieces of chicken ...I got furious on the delivery guy cz he then wanted to check with the restaurant by telling them seems empty should I give them the money back or what ?

Along with it came a clay enclosure (with small candles inside) on which the Handi can be heated. The dough used for sealing was green from food colouring (to say it is Vegetarian, I guess).
The accompaniment was a Salan which tasted terrific; better than the Biryani itself, sadly.
The Biryani tasted average. In fact, the masala was very much like the Maggi noodles taste-maker. The predominant flavour was of ginger-garlic paste rather than of various spices. The vegetables were overcooked and less in quantity. The rice was well-cooked, though, and the dish was not oily, mercifully.
The 1/2 kg option would be sufficient for 2 average eaters. The Salan was high on taste but low in quantity.
While the theatre and novelty of it was fun, paying Rs. 325 was not worth it.
I would rather buy a handi and cook my own Biryani. But, maybe get the...
