Everybody is born with a little criminal inside. Yes, a very strong statement which is subjected to subjective opinion but seriously think about it. Psychological studies reveal that the damaged amygdala, hippocampus, frontal cortex with sociological theories effects criminal activities by increasing the chances of “I want to do” or “I want that thing”. But luckily Most human beings have developed the beginnings of control over their impulses by the age 4 or so and tend to have a clear understanding of cause-and-effect or “that isn’t yours”, “someone may be harmed by that”. But we do so much already against the law & authorities in varied degrees, that I couldn’t help but wonder, If anything at all is so desirable that the consequences are worth it? Well if you’re caught not attending the university classes, at least you have a totally worth it” excuse for your lecturer. Pleasing with its rustic, tropical graffiti, “insides” out of a buildings decor, dedicated space for all day live music & all new dimension to a casual dine-in experience, Cantino is the most desirable & popular amongst the rebellious adolescents of the North campus. As stated by one of the co-owners Mr. Akhil Malik, Cantino was nothing short of a classy place rendering an experience which was evidently seen in their elaborate menu featuring the top charts of contemporary cuisines. Crispy vegetable spring rolls with actually heated garlic sauce was surely a delectable surprise, Mushroom stroganoff with pickled red pepper rice, Chicken schezwan bowled with fried rice, great indian chicken platter cubing chicken tikka masala, creamy dal makhni, buttered mini naans & sinful indulgence like the black forest sundae with caramel sauce, rum soaked cherries, strawberry ice cream were the few i could manage in one sitting. With bespoke hospitality & creative minds behind it, Cantino has gained unmatched popularity in North Delhi within few months of its...
Read moreWhat an amazing new cafe Cantino is. Located in the famous Hudson Lane of North Campus, the cafe looks amazing, has a wonderful ambience and even plays LIVE music. With 3 floors to seat at, there shouldn't be a dearth of space, if I may be frank. Also, the staff there is really cool, calm, extremely helpful and courteous. If I remember correctly, we were taken care of by Varun who really took brilliant care of us, overall.
Now, coming to the food, we ordered a variety of dishes, namely, chipotle Paneer tikka, mutton bhuna tikka, Cantino chicken skewers, Classic dry chilly chicken, a vegetarian home platter that consisted of daal makhni, paneer butter masala and garlic naan.
In drinks, we ordered a molten chocolate shake, a Nutella & Davidoff cold-coffee & a chia seeds and mango smoothie. Dessert was a molten chocolate mug cake.
Everything was absolutely amazing! Be it the paneer tikka or the mutton bhuna tikka or the sizzlers (classic dry chilly chicken or original dry chilly paneer), the food was awesome! We were told that their daal makhni was special and boy, did the daal makhni taste amazing.
Also, the nutella and Davidoff cold coffee was a revelation. I am a big time hot coffee guy. So, trying a cold coffee is huge for me! I was totally apprehensive but positive that what we were suggested will be special and the all the 3 drinks did turn out to be absolutely special.
Overall, I felt this is one cafe which has a huge potential in Hudson lane. I doubt whether any other cafe/ restaurant has such an ambience, size, food or even LIVE music playing while their patrons enjoy a delicious meal on one of their 3 floors.
I really wish to go back there again, very soon. Although, GTB Nagar is pretty damn far from where I stay, but the fact that the food was so gobsmackingly good, coupled with the kick-ass management and their wonderful courtesy, I really feel I'll be going back there. Very...
Read moreI recently celebrated my birthday at Cantino Restaurant, located at Shop 5, DDA Market Complex, Delhi University Bylane, Hudson Lane, GTB Nagar, and trust me — it turned out to be one of the most memorable birthday dinners I’ve had!
From the moment we entered, the ambience was just perfect — especially on the second floor, which I’d highly recommend. The vibe there is classy yet chill, the music was soft and pleasant, and most importantly, it wasn’t loud or disturbing. It really set the mood for a cozy yet lively celebration.
Now coming to the food — bhai, it was a total feast! We ordered a good mix of dishes: 🍗 Chilli Chicken – spicy, juicy, and full of flavour 🥗 Green Salads – super fresh and refreshing 🍕 Pizza loaded with chicken and cheese – exactly what you want when you’re hungry and in party mode
They even served us fresh tomato sauce, chilli flakes, and oregano without us having to ask — the small things that show great service!
The quantity of food was next-level. The bowls and platters were humongous — easily enough for two people, maybe even more! We were actually struggling to finish it all despite having worked up quite an appetite. Totally worth it if you’re planning to go with a group or even as a couple.
And I just can’t forget to mention the waitress who served us — she was genuinely sweet and kind-hearted. Her polite and helpful nature literally took our experience to another level. We felt properly looked after the whole time.
Final Words:
If you’re ever around GTB Nagar or Hudson Lane and want a place that offers great food, beautiful ambience, top-notch service, and good value for money, Cantino is a total win. Whether it’s your birthday, a casual dinner, or just catching up with friends, you won’t regret it.
I’ll definitely be going back — and next time, I’m bringing a bigger group to help me finish those...
