While India has had a love-hate relationship with China over the years, one thing that hasn't changed is our romance with Chinese food. I remember reading somewhere that nearly 40% of all restaurants in India offer Chinese or pan-Asian cuisine in some form or the other. With such fierce competition, it's not easy for any stand-alone eatery to distinguish itself in this space. But Delhi's Eastern Cravings is certainly up to the challenge. I rarely like to comment on a restaurant till I have had the chance to sample its menu on several occasions. After all, every business can have a bad day and, even the worst cook in the world can sometimes get lucky. Consistency is the one thing that sets apart the true winners from the also-rans. Having had sumptuous meals from Eastern Cravings on several occasions, I can now safely vouch for it in terms of taste, quantity and pricing. The menu is pretty extensive and covers not only Chinese but dishes from several South-East Asian countries including Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia. Above all, I think what really works for the place is that it is run by an owner who is obsessed with customer service and sees each feedback as an opportunity to improve. That kind of commitment also reflects in the quality of food that comes out of its kitchens. Take for instance the Thai green curry. I last had something as good only in Bangkok, and never since. And if a dish can capture the soul of the country that it represents, it is also able to touch your heart. The mixed meat noodles is another personal favourite and comes loaded with proteins, whether chicken, lamb or seafood. Unlike several other eateries that I have had the misfortune to order from, the chef at Eastern Cravings does not attempt to mask stale ingredients with a mouthful of chillies or randomly tossed-in spices. The flavours are fresh and mild, and possibly as authentic as you can get without making a trip to Beijing. Other dishes that I have tried and can happily recommend, include the Crispy Ginger Malaysian basa fish, the juicy chicken drumsticks, the diced chicken with butter garlic sauce and the Hakka noodles. To be honest, the prices at Eastern Cravings are not cheap, especially if you compare it to your neighbourhood Chinese joint. But the portion sizes are generous and each dish can easily feed 2-3 people. Moreover, I think that ordering in or eating out is all about enjoying the experience and it's ok to pay a little more for quality food, rather than subject yourself to something that's as disgusting and inedible as it is cheap. The packaging that the food gets delivered in is also immaculate, with sauces and disposable cutlery completing the restaurant-like experience at home. As I am sure you have realised by now, Eastern Cravings has become my go-to destination whenever I want to treat myself or my family to a tasty, wholesome pan-Asian meal that doesn't...

Delivery - 1/5 ( Agitated delivery boy ) Packaging - 1/5 Phirni Quality - 1/5 ( ice crystals were very much formed between the phirni ) Sweetness level of phirni - 2.5/5 ( Perfect )
When you get those meaningless cravings and you are all lazy to even grab a glass of Coca-Cola from kitchen and think that Indian craving can handle the late night delivery. They just have the tag of craving but do not understand craving at all ! The driver was so upset from the first call that even I tried to explain him the direction but he was just onto his own. He asked me to step out and guide him the way! Waited for almost 15 minutes outside struggling with the mosquitos. After that the restaurant called and said you are not able to guide the driver and I was so shocked and surprised. I was already standing outside and even offered to give him WhatsApp location to the driver even when I have saved exact address on zomato itself.
Anyways the plus points are that every bite of the flavorless phirni is filled with almonds and ice. The beverages were definitely chilled and satisfying But after the whole delivery incident your craving just dies. You canโt fight with restaurant and mosquitos all at the same time at 1:30am. Very much understand that his job is difficult and finding an address is not easy but I was also out and struggling with him ? And controlled my temper even when I had no obligation to stand out and guide him.
Overall not at all recommended for night deliveries and staff needs to focus more on...
