Cafe Monique at The Manor — Restaurant in Delhi

Disappointing

The setting, hiding in the corner of the Manor Garden, is a perfect spot for a little café light lunch and coffee. The interior was clean and soft music drifted through the cool air-conditioned interior. We ordered coffee, quiche and a savoury crepe. The coffee, piping hot in a glass double walled Borosilicate mug was watery and lacked that creamy coffee hit one needs; however, make sure you ask for it strong as the second cup was a normal strength. The savoury crepe filling was nice but the crepe was inedible and the whole dish had to be returned. The crepe itself was “toasted” and so was tough against the filling, as if the crepe was preprepared and cremated to a brown cardboard with no flavour. The quiche looked delightful in the glass cabinet display, so enticing with a golden-brown pastry circling the herb scattered cheese topping. Unfortunately, the effort someone had made to create the perfect pastry case was completely undone by the ‘zapping’ of the quiche to tepid, making the pastry soggy, the plate warm and beads of moisture between what would have been a perfect pastry crust and the warmed plate. A bite of chocolate cake would have rounded off the event, the flavour was delicious with the perfect layering of filling and cake proportion, but the edges betrayed its lack of freshness as they had turned dry and cracked at the side. The café is a perfect spot when you don’t want to be seen or see anyone, quiet and tucked away, just make sure to order the coffee strong and just have the free piece of cake served with it as this was the best and freshes...

Worst cafe ever. They should learn to replicate French courtesy and service in addition to the French cuisine. Very unprofessional service - they cancelled my order on the day of delivery for my dad's birthday and no one had the decency to call. Please don't waste your time here! They are insensitive and unprofessional.

Also the most insensitive and irrational response because the order was booked 3 days in advance and cancelled without any prior notice.

Let me ask you Team Monique - how would you react if a cafe as unprofessional as yours cancelled a birthday cake order for your loved one on the day of delivery after having long conversations about the order a day before.

Our recent Biking group meeting was held at Monique In the Corner of The Manor Hotel, and we found the food to be superior to other cafes we've visited, with an excellent ambiance. The availability of both air-conditioned and outdoor seating was appreciated. The service was exceptional.
