A Culinary Journey at Malamen - The Kitchen and Bar in Okhla, Delhi
Are you looking for a new and exciting dining experience in Okhla, Delhi? Look no further than Malamen - The Kitchen and Bar, a recently opened restaurant that promises to tantalize your taste buds and offer a welcoming atmosphere. Join me on a culinary adventure as I explore the drinks, appetizers, mains, and the overall ambiance of this new hotspot.
Drinks: Sip Your Worries Away
My journey began with a delightful selection of cocktails. The first, an effervescent aperitif cocktail known as Elderflower, was a beautiful blend of St. Germain elderflower liqueur, gin, and white Lillet, mixed with grapefruit juice. Its refreshing and slightly floral notes made it an instant favorite. The Whiskey Sour, my second choice, was perfectly balanced and a true classic in every sense. Both drinks lived up to the hype, setting the tone for an unforgettable evening.
Appetizers: A Platter of Delight
Malamen offers a diverse range of appetizers to please every palate. I savored the Bhatti ka Murg Tikka, a succulent and well-marinated chicken dish, alongside the Veg Kebab Platter, which boasted a variety of delectable options including paneer tikka, butter-roasted broccoli, mushroom tikka, and tandoori aloo. The combination of flavors and textures in these appetizers left me craving for more.
Mains: A Symphony of Flavors
My culinary journey continued with the mains. I opted for the Exotic Vegetables in Butter Garlic Sauce, a vegetarian delight served with fragrant jasmine rice. The rich, creamy sauce and perfectly cooked vegetables were a celebration of flavors. For those craving the quintessential Indian taste, the Butter Chicken with assorted breads was a revelation. The tender chicken and luscious tomato-based gravy left me with a newfound appreciation for this beloved dish.
Sheesha: Unwinding in Style
Malamen also offers a variety of sheesha flavors to enhance your dining experience. I tried the Sundowner flavor, perfect for those who wish to enjoy a relaxing smoke with their drinks.
Other Highlights: Beyond the Food
What sets Malamen apart is not just its delectable menu but also the overall experience. The warm and friendly staff make you feel right at home. The cozy ambiance and comfortable seating, whether at the bar or in the dining area, add to the inviting atmosphere. Plus, for those who can't bear to miss the latest World Cup match or event, there's a large TV screen, ensuring you don't miss a moment of the action.
In conclusion, Malamen - The Kitchen and Bar is a hidden gem in Okhla, Delhi, offering a delightful fusion of flavors, a wide variety of drinks, and an ambiance that's both cozy and stylish.    Read moreThe behavior of the the server during the whole dinner was good, but in the end, their behavior at the time of payment, especially the tipping time, ruined my whole experience. I came with my family of 10 people, we ordered a lot of food, which tasted more or less okay, but the mosquitos ruined our whole evening (reason for 1 star in atmosphere). But the main highlight was the server's behavior at the time of payment. I asked them for discount of any sort, and they said 20% on bill and service charge of 10% can also be removed. So, i told them to do the same i.e. 20% off on bill plus removal of 10% service charge. Till now all good. Total bill was around Rs 5.4 k and we gave Rs 5.5 k leaving a little short of Rs 100/- as tip. But NO NO NO I don't know what they wanted as tip but they refused to keep the tip and openly in front of everyone said we do not need it. I again asked them politely to keep it, but NO NO NO, taking Rs 100/- as tip is not okay with them. If you want more tip, should have told us quietly, we would have given more, but openly saying we don't want tip and returning it was not good. I felt very bad. I know other people might think it is not a big deal, but for me, saying to me quietly was okay, but saying in front of everyone is not good to me. I might be wrong but this is my review and i think 1 star is...

The quantity and quality both had taken a hit. We brought this to the attention of the service staff but they were least interested. No visiting again.
Old Review: It is after a couple of visits to this place that I am writing this review. Its a relatively new joint. Parking is not at all a hassle. The ambience is good. The choice of songs being played is also good.
We tried a few of their starters - tandoori chicken, drums of heaven, chicken in Korean sauce and noodles. Except of the chicken in Korean sause reset all the items were mouthwatering.
In maincouse we tried butter chicken which was way too sweet and bland. Chicken tikka masala was non spicy. Their kadhai chicken is the better option if you do not want a gravy which has a sweet taste. Breads were all good. Their biryani is also exceptionally yummy.
Since they are a new joint, they also rum some promotional offers which makes it a very...
