I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Punjab restaurant in Yusuf Sarai Market, New Delhi, and I must say that my experience left me pleasantly surprised. Although the restaurant's appearance may not initially inspire confidence, the food they serve is nothing short of exceptional.
Upon my friend's insistence, I reluctantly stepped inside the shabby little place. However, my skepticism quickly faded as I delved into their vegetarian offerings. I ordered the malai kofta, butter naan, and mix raita, and I was blown away by the flavors and quality of the dishes.
The malai kofta was rich and creamy, with perfectly spiced dumplings swimming in a delectable sauce. The butter naan was soft and pillowy, an ideal accompaniment to the flavorful curry. The mix raita provided a refreshing contrast, balancing out the richness of the main course.
What truly impressed me was the attention to detail in the preparation of the food. The flavors were well-balanced, and the portion sizes were generous. The quality of the dishes easily rivaled that of established restaurants, making it clear that the Punjab restaurant takes pride in its culinary offerings.
However, it's worth mentioning that the restaurant could use some improvements in its ambiance and hygiene. The shabby appearance and lack of attention to cleanliness might be off-putting to some customers. It would be great to see the owners invest more in the design of the place and pay closer attention to hygiene standards to elevate the overall dining experience.
Despite these shortcomings, the Punjab restaurant has undoubtedly earned a reputation as a hidden gem for its outstanding vegetarian fare. If you can overlook the initial impression, you will be rewarded with a memorable culinary experience that rivals some of the more well-known establishments.
In conclusion, my visit to the Punjab restaurant left me pleasantly surprised by the exceptional quality and taste of their vegetarian dishes. While improvements in the ambiance and hygiene are warranted, the delightful flavors and generous portions make this place a must-visit for all lovers of...

Only one waiter used to serve in unique 80's style. They serve in Bone China plates which is another awesome and 80's experience, I'm So Impressed!!! Veg options are less but loads of Non Veg dishes ranging from egg to chicken to mutton. I had Dal Makhani & Laccha Paratha (obsessed nowadays) , it was delicious and in punjabi way. Had Dum Aloo....It was real yumm (but a bit sweet) Kadhai Paneer is also tasty and is in pure punjabi dhaba style. Mutton masala is tasty but peices aren't good enough. Veg Biryani is ok ok - punjabi styled. Must try other things but may be on my next...

Well it was much better than the interior. Their kadai chicken is awesome along with butter naan or tandoori roti. Even their saag mutton during the season is very tasty. Service is OK which we expect from this type of restaurant. Food is also reasonably priced here won’t burn a hole...
