After a long time we craved for some South Indian cuisine and zeroed on to this mid-service restaurant.
Despite I was the one in my group to suggest this place, I couldn't relish this place much. We ordered Rava Masal Dosa, Idli Chaat, Masala Dosa and a North Indian Premium Thaali (hope I remember the names as per menu) all for Rs 851/-
AMBIANCE:- -It has soothing but dim light aura, could have liy more. -Double storey sitting. -Full of tables and Chairs (covers) leaving limited space for movements. -Clean -We sat on the right bay (as you move in) on the ground floor. This table had a very awkward air conditioning. As the ceilng AC was just above us, Few of our seats were quite cold (one may not stand the temperature) and the other regular. -It had a good foot fall.
STAFF:- -It was a decent staff with limited training, as one may expect from such sized restaurants. -Ones a cleaner while doing his chores, was very much about to keep his dust pan the guests' tables. (These days restaurants usually keep a long dustpan to avoid such issues) -The service and the kitchen staff do not know the difference between half cooked and well done food. (Keep reading to know the story).
FOOD -Ones of the most important review.
-Rava Dosa: Quite oily, Highly crisp (One was looking for a soft part as it was similar to a papad/papaum and every thing but a dosa), and yes, It was a good search for the masala beneath. They can certainly make the size bigger (for the amount they are charging).
-The tomato chutney and Sambhar were tasty one can have it again and again.
-Masal Dosa: Oily, But was better then it's rawa counterpart. I may have it again.
-Idli Chaat: So as the name and it's photograph in the menu goes it was a tempting item (Some thing like Dahi wada, but instead of Wada they had Fried Idly), and hence we ordered it. No efforts were put by the chef to give it a good presentation, rather it was a mixture of all the masala, Dahi and highly oily idlies (one could feel the oil in mouth). With lot of saunth/meethi chutney, it was a spoon full of sugar. In small, a big mood off.
-Premium North Indian Thali- Now it had a detail.
~Breads (Naan/Roti...) were ok.
~Shahi paneer had tomato gravy (Not makhni gravy). Taste was similar to a road side dhaba Shahi paneer.
~Mix vegetable had Peas, carrots and beans which were so rare done that you could feel crushing them in your mouth.
~Pulao had a similar fate with the vegetables in it as similar to mix veg. Although, they were looking tempting (but not in taste)
~Dal Makhni: It was good. But one may put in some more effort. No deduction in points.
~Boondi Raita: Bit cold, with not so good boondi, Ok Ok types.
~Gulab Jamun: A believe it was promising and one of the best items among all, as it was soft and soothing when I had. But as they brought it along with the thali much ago, it was all cold by the time I had after finishing the above stuff.
*As the vegetables in Pulao and Mix veg were hard, I called on the supervisor. On hearing, his response was quite cold and he suggested that probably I do not know about a vegetable cooking. After a bit argument, he offered to replace the pulao, which I agreed for. But alas!!! Next time I received the same rice but with some hot temperature.
Summary: -Not a Value for Money. -Chefs need to know how to cook better. -Service staff can be trained as well. -Make the air conditioning better.

Read moreShree Rathnam in Rohini is a delightful spot for South Indian cuisine enthusiasts. But the cuisine is not limited to South Indian food, it includes North Indian and Chinese food also which are equally delicious. During my recent visit, I was impressed by the variety and authenticity of dishes offered.
Food: ★★★★☆ The menu boasts a range of South Indian, North Indian and Chinese delicacies, with the Mysore Masala Dosa and Rava Onion Masala Dosa standing out for their crispiness and flavorful fillings. The accompanying sambar and coconut chutney were fresh and complemented the dishes well. While the South Indian fare is commendable, some patrons have noted that the North Indian and Chinese offerings are equally tasty and meet the same standard.
Service: ★★★★☆ The staff is courteous and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. Service is generally prompt, even during peak hours, which adds to the overall satisfaction. However, there have been occasional mentions of service inconsistencies.
Ambience: ★★★★☆ The restaurant offers a clean and comfortable environment suitable for family outings. While the decor is simple, it maintains a welcoming atmosphere. The establishment is spacious, making it ideal for both small gatherings and larger groups.
Overall: ★★★★☆ Shree Rathnam is a reliable choice for those craving authentic South Indian cuisine. Read moreTasty food with a good variety of Menu. 3 years back i visited this place but now they have revised their menu items.
Have added other cuisines also.
A must visit with friends and family.
Kids enjoyed eating South Indian food especially masala dosa.
Sambar is also tasty with all authentic South Indian flavours. We had vegetables chowmein and spring rolls along with peach flavour ice tea.
Everything was upto the mark and no complaints nothing.
We all really liked the food and ambience.
Just a small request I add a little music 🎵🎶🎵🎶 i didn't mean live music but in background there should be a little music to give you a feel and atmosphere.
Staff was really good and nice.
Some people are like very old ( i mean purana Jo kahin saalo se yahan hai), and food quality is also improving accordingly and upgrading too.
Also the should add more of mocktails options and that too in reasonable price as drink prices were really high in comparison to the quantity they served.
As peach ice tea that was soda based was above 120/ for a 150 ml glass 🍷🍷.
So if it's possible just make it a little reasonable along with adding additional menu in mocktails.
All I all good place with...
