Child Friendly or Child Phobic– Extremely Disappointed by Staff Attitude & Management Response !!!!
We visited this café on the recommendation of a close friend, who spoke highly of its child-friendly vibe, good food, and pleasant ambience. We accompanied her expecting the same experience — but sadly, what we got was a crash course in poor attitude and worse hospitality. Unfortunately, our experience was anything but friendly. To begin with, when a child in our group accidentally vomited, we immediately apologized and were extremely apologetic about the situation. The restaurant has board games for children, which we appreciated — until we were told that only one game per table was allowed, even though we had five kids trying to play together. The staff, instead of being accommodating, were visibly annoyed, rolling their eyes at the children and making unpleasant faces and muttering under their breath. They kept interrupting the children repeatedly telling them to play only one game at a time. Five children with one game. They also kept interrupting us during our conversation to complain about the children. We requested them to allow the kids to take more games and promised to give them back if more guests arrived and the games were needed. I would also like to point out that they have quite a collection of games and it was not like there was any shortage for the other guests. Kindly note NO GAMES OR TOYS WERE BROKEN. Your claim to the same is not true. Rather our kids played with broken toys and incomplete games which were already in that condition. At one point, the kids moved to an empty table (the restaurant was practically vacant at that time) to play more comfortably. We had clearly informed the staff that we’d vacate the table as soon as more guests arrived. Instead of acknowledging that, they later claimed they had “given us an extra table” as though they were doing us a favor — again, in an empty restaurant.
The final straw came when, as we were leaving, the staff told us to clear up the games table ourselves. The games and toys were all on the table. Nothing was on the floor. We made our kids clear up. We pay service tax and expect basic hospitality — being asked to clean up after paying for a full dining experience is completely unacceptable.
When we left a review simply highlighting these issues — mainly the rude attitude of the staff. The owner’s response was shockingly unprofessional. Instead of acknowledging the feedback or apologizing for the poor experience, he chose to react defensively. Instead of handling it with basic courtesy, the owner remarked, “We cleaned up the vomit for you,” as though they were doing us a personal favor — forgetting that cleanliness is a fundamental part of their responsibility, not an act of generosity. To be clear, we have no complaints about the food or the ambience — both were decent. The issue lies entirely with the staff conduct and the owner’s dismissive, arrogant attitude. A restaurant that calls itself child-friendly should learn what that actually means — patience, empathy, and respect for your customers . Sadly, this place failed on all...
Read moreWell,I was all praises for chocolate room earlier..especially the food and ambience ..but recently I visited this place again with two of my friends and 5 kids aged 4-7 years...so basically we were three mothers with 5 kids..we planned visiting this place ,as we found this place children friendly cause they have games which small children can play and as our kids will be busy we mothers can have some me time..buttttt the staff there weren't very pleased by this..first our children weren't allowed to play two games at a time..the staff again and again pinpointed that as per rules only one game should be played at one time even if the other games were free to play with and nobody else was playing with them..then we requested them about the same as the kids had different choices and wanted to play with different games...though they agreed but the staff kept making rude unpleasant faces. Over it at the time of billing one of the waitress asked us to wind up the game table..it wasn't like the games were thrown every where on the floor..the games were just open on the table..so we made our kids wind up the games and keep them back.. Isn't it the responsibilty of the staff to clean up the area after the customers leave the place?? And why do we pay service tax then ???? We should then wash our utensils too before leaving the cafe...isnt it ?????After all small kids were playing in a place which was considered to be kids friendly and had games for them..if you are so worried about the game thing then don't keep them at first place.. Conclusion : This visit was my last visit to this place..and would never recommend any parent to visit this place with kids ..there are many other cafes and places which are child friendly ..better to visit those than visit this place and...
