The worst ever experience with any restaurant. I placed the order with them at 9:20pm because we had few guests from outside delhi and they wanted to have biryani. We thought of "biryani by kilo" as it was having good rating on Zomato. We decided to pick up from them as we did not want to wait for 90 mins to deliver. Mr. Inder in call center promised that they can get it ready by 10pm if we are picking up. We reached there by 10pm However, they wanted 5 additional mins. I was inside their kitchen. I told them that I don't want to compromise on quality. They assured that there won't be any problem with quality. Later we came home and jumped on the food immediately as guests were hungry and they had to leave as well. It was Sunday night. Then we immediately realized that the rice was half cooked. It is the kind of rice, which you would layer with chicken gravy or veg gravy to cook biryani. Needless to say it was very embarrassing. All our guests were hungry and It was 10:30pm. With heavy mind and heavy heart I called them again. I knew that they won't be able to do much, but I was still hoping for some miracle. Mr. Irfan in call center gave me 2 options: They can get the item replaced in an hour or they can refund my money. I went for latter as we were already late. My guests shared the leftover food we had in our refrigerator. It was not enough!! Very sad. Mr Irfan in call center said that they would need the item back to do the quality check. I was very frustrated by this time. I think that they knew that they had made mistake. But still they were not admitting it. I told them to send their rider immediately. However, their rider came by 11:30pm after calling them multiple times. I am sorely disappointed with their behaviour and their inferior, inedible chicken and veg biryani. This was the first and was the last time for me with them. This is the most I would allow them to embarrass me....
Read moreFine Dining Experience Delivered to your Doorstep. Off late there has been a Tsunami of Biryani Outlets in NCR. So trying my luck, I decided to try this new Outlet called Biryani by Kilo.
I was bowled over just by the look of the Menu. This was by far the most extensive Biryani Menu I've seen in my entire life. From Hyderabadi to Lucknowi and even Kolkata Biryani, which is hard to find.
I ordered a Murgh Hyderabadi Biryani, which was on point. The meat was properly cooked with perfectly balanced spices. It was good on the palate, especially with the Salan and Mint Chutney served alongside. They also provided a small heating pot with Tea Lights to keep your Biryani Warm before opening the Dum.
The second dish I ordered was Chicken Korma with Ulte Tawe ka Paranta. Trust me, I've tried authentic Korma dishes at various outlets, especially in Old Delhi but this one was something else. I start salivating even now, just by remembering the taste it left in my mouth. The Ulte Tawe ka parantha was a perfect accompaniment.
The highlight of the meal was the 1/2 kg of Phirni that came in a matki and tasted stupendous. It was not your typical gelatin Phirni but mildly sweet aromatic rice mixed with Kesar and some almonds. I devoured it for next 2 days.
All in all, I'd highly recommend Biryani by Kilo over a lot of other Fast Food Outlets pretending to be Biryani Specialists. Kudos to the team for menu selection and creating a Fine Dining Experience even with...
Read moreBiryani by Kilo, after hearing a lot n lot about this Biryani Outlet which is spread all over Delhi NCR, I gave a shot.
Ordered:
1/2 Chicken Briyani:::: Before eating only it was looking so so beautiful in a half KG sand clay pot with branding engraved on it on both sides, sealed with some kind of flour. It was a perfect Dum Biryani. Plus they provide a candle stove with some candles to keep the biryani warm. Also... they provide some seeds so that after enjoying the biryani you can grow some plant into it. How creative and eco friendly is that!! never seen such perfect use of the a waste clay pot.
Chicken Korma: this was cooked so well the chicken was melting but wasn't over or reheated. It has so much of oil on the top like other Chicken korma's, which is fine. It was High on flavors.
Matka Phirni: this was again something which came in a smaller clay pot. This was the best dessert one can have, wasn't too sweet and too thick or thin. Just just too perfect Phirni it was. Must say this and all other items has been prepared with good amount of time.
Ulta Tawe ke Pranthey: This was a huge sized pranthas, also you can say they were like mughali pranthas.
Super food, great taste and really a fancy Biryani to have. Maybe you can order it on some special orders when partying with friends or guests.
I would rate 5 on 5...
