I have been a fan of evergreen sweets and regularly use to visit their green park outlet during my childhood days. My countless memories are associated with evergreen. But the recent experience has shocked me to a great extent. I wanted to order maharaja thalis on karwa chauth day (24th October 2021) for my family, but due to heavy rains Zomato & Swiggy were not taking orders so I called the restaurant directly and there I was told that since no rider is available so they are not taking delivery orders and asked me to order via Zomato/ Swiggy. I told them that I am unable to place order there and I requested to take my order on phone, take payment via paytm and I will personally come and collect the order. The guy refused to take my order and requested me to come and place the order in person. Thereafter I went to the restaurant and placed my order. Also I was surprised to see that although there was no rush but they were very slow in fulfilling the order and kept telling me that order will fulfilled in 5-10 mins. Finally after 30 mins of placing the order and seeing no signs, I spoke to their duty manager Mr. Ajay and he was also surprised that I had to come personally to place the order which could have been done on phone and I just had to come to collect it (because of operational issues due to rains). He apologised to me and requested me to speak to him whenever I call the restaurant again. Finally after all this I got my order within 5 mins. When I reached home I was again shocked to see that sweets (ras malai) were missing. I called up restaurant again and asked to speak to Mr. Ajay. He again apologised and assured me that next time I shall be reimbursed for the same.
Full marks to Mr Ajay for his behaviour and attitude but this careless approach of the staff really hurts. Hope the management will take notice and take necessary steps in...
Read moreThey have the worst tasting so-called cheesecake. An absolute dishonor to it's name, it was nothing like any cheesecake, let alone a New York Cheesecake. It had an awful rotten smell and bitter aftertaste. It wasn't baked unlike an authentic NY cheesecake and was prepared with terrible quality of ingredients. Seemingly used cheap oil like substance in the biscuit crumb instead of butter. The texture was so off and unlike cheesecake. To add to it the proportion of crumble was way too much than what a cheesecake should ideally have and was weirdly too gritty in texture. At best it tasted like a carboard smothered in rancid oil and bitter rotten hardened milk. Straight up horrible and unauthentic. Gave me a seriously upset stomach along with multiple episodes of Nausea. Almost any random bakery would have a better tasting cheesecake than Evergreen's bakery. Shocking to experience this since it's such a reputed eatery. And it doesn't help that it isn't any cheaper than some premium bakeries. Disgusting is the one word that comes to mind the moment I remember the taste of that cheesecake. Please avoid purchasing stuff from their bakery if you care about yourself even the slightest. The items don't do justice to the price you pay you for them. Also, in the image I have added, you can see the slight oily film on the top of cheesecake which is very unusual. That is because whatever cheap base they used had undergone separation of fat and solids, hence giving it a gritty texture instead of smooth. This happens when an ingredient goes stale. It could be due to carelessness at any stage - be it the quality of ingredients used or the preparation, cooking, handling or storing of items. It's a major food safety concern. I am in terrible pain even as I type this. So...
Read moreThe evergreen restaurant is situated on the ground floor in the Hotel Welcome at Dwarka sector 10 New Delhi. We booked this resturant for 40 persons. It was good arrangment all. Food is delicious. Offering a complete range of sweets and deserts the place has also a wide range of Menu for North Indian cuisine, South Indian, Chinese in addition to a large range of Bakery items alongside street food and tea time snacks.
With spacious interiors the place is a Dining facility and also provides Dining facility too. Amidst the lockdown, one fine day with rainy weather outside we had a craving for Samosa with Chole and that's when we decided to order from this place. I was actually surprised to see the crispness of the outer ring of the Samosa despite it being delivered hot, Chole were absolutely Delicious and fresh, and Onion Kachori's were just fabulous. The Chaat items were particularly good. The mini thali while filling is pretty standard (standard oily gravy items). The desserts were good. The south Indian items seemed overpriced. Lunch time can get crowded because of the crowd from the nearby offices.
We ate here as an alternative to the expensive food in the Welcome Hotel. It's in the food court on the lower ground floor behind the hotel. We had the thali plus some coriander soup with aloo on the side. The food came quickly, was made of fresh ingredients and the service was friendly and helpful within the limits of the language barrier. Hygiene levels seem good. We went there twice which is a...
