I recently made the unfortunate decision to order from a South Indian restaurant through a food delivery app, expecting to enjoy the delightful flavors of this cuisine from the comfort of my home. However, my experience with this particular restaurant left me with a sour taste in my mouth, quite literally.
The first disappointment came with the sambhar that accompanied my order. I had high hopes for a rich and flavorful lentil-based soup, but what I received was far from it. The sambhar was excessively sour, making it almost impossible to enjoy. It seemed like the chef had carelessly mixed in an excessive amount of tamarind or another souring agent, completely overpowering any other flavors that might have been present. This resulted in a rather unappetizing and unbalanced dish.
As for the dosa, the moment I unwrapped the package, an unpleasant smell of oil filled the air, making me question the freshness and hygiene of the food. My doubts were confirmed when I took a bite - the dosa was excessively oily and had a peculiar aftertaste, likely due to the reused and low-quality oil used in its preparation. It was far from the authentic dosa experience one would expect from a South Indian restaurant.
Overall, my experience with this South Indian restaurant was nothing short of disappointing. The sour and non-flavored sambhar, coupled with the strange-smelling and oily dosa, left me with an unpleasant dining experience. The lackluster chutney and sambar only added to my disappointment.
I strongly advise against ordering from this restaurant if you value the authentic flavors and quality that South Indian cuisine...

Read moreMe and my family came here for Onam meal and ordered Onam thali, which was below average…. And if you consider the costs, not at all worth it, the portions were very small and the food was tasteless… the only salt the whole meal had was the rassam which was salt in water. After this we ordered rava masala dosa which again was average for me… my hostel mess has better food than this. The thali did not have Avial ( which is a dish served in Onam) also there was no curd in the thali. Even if we leave aside the food part ….. service is the worst. There were 6-8 staff around the room but no one came to take our order… calling someone they said someone else will be taking it …. We even overheard a customer complain for curd in their thali and the waiter went to the manager saying they want curd and the manager said ‘tell them we don’t serve it, if they want to eat it they can …. If not they can leave’. After our meal we went to confront the manager, he was least bothered about it. We asked why there was no curd or Avial in the meal if you are serving an Onam meal… which is a festival of Kerela…. To which he answered that it is a Karnataka establishment so the meal is like this….. even if it is not a Kerela establishment… curd is something I think any and all south Indian establishments should have …. Heck even north Indian thalis have it… and if it is not the way it should be you should not name it as such… saying Onam thali. All in all , I would say don’t go here, not worthy a single penny…. Better go to Haldiram or Bikaner if you really want to eat South Indian food … they have it...
