Food: ★★★★☆ Service: ☆☆☆☆☆
Our experience at Punjab Grill was incredibly frustrating. We were excited to try their famous Dal Makhani after hearing glowing reviews, but things went downhill fast. After a decent round of starters Dahi ke Kebab (★★★☆☆) and Paneer Cigar Rolls (★★★★☆), we placed an order for main course with Dal Makhani, Kadhai Paneer, Garlic Naan and Butter Roti. However, after 10 minutes we were served Dal Tadka instead of Dal Makhani. When we pointed out the error, the server, Dhoni, was dismissive and argued we had ordered it. We got this response after he confirmed our order at least twice and each time we said Dal Makhani. Worse still, he claimed taking the dish back would affect his "tab" and refused to correct the mistake. Their manager who joined not long after 5 minutes was non-chalant and also tried to portray as if it was entirely our fault for ordering wrong. It took far too long, and only after unnecessary back-and-forth did they finally agree to bring the right dish, all the while our remaining order on table was getting cold.
To top it off, their prices are all over the place. The Full serving of Dal Makhani was listed at 655 on Zomato District, 455 on Swiggy Dineout, and yet we were charged 675 as per their menu, excluding taxes. As a customer it is frustrating to see that a restaurant of this high stature pays so much effort to gaslight customers into believing their order was different so that they can serve whatever they want, and no effort at all to be transparent about prices anywhere online. Shame on you Punjab Grill! Shame on you for not prioritising the experience of your patrons.
The food, when arrived, was good; but the experience left a sour taste. Between the poor service and the blatant overcharging, it’s hard to recommend this place. If you do go, make sure it’s during a major discount to make it even remotely worth it.
Would I return? Only if I could avoid Dhoni’s service and the outrageous pricing.

Read moreThis was my first experience at Punjab grill and definitely the last. Extremely expensive and they don’t have any speciality that other such expensive restaurants offer in terms of food. Not sure if they need more staff or more training for the current ones. Ordered half plate dahi kabab and the server came with a full plate which while serving we denied and only took 3 which is the quantity they offer in half a plate. During the billing we were charged for the full plate and post payment we realised that they charged us for a full plate of dahi kabab. When we informed the staff about the same, they were completely ignorant and did not pay us back the extra money they charged us wrongly. They were reluctant to admit that there could have been a mistake from their side in taking the order. But if they were so confident i asked them only this question- if we ordered full quantity and we did not take complete the order why did you not ask us the reason of returning the remaining quantity. Though the chef came to our table to inquire about the food he did not ask us the reason for returning the two kababs because obviously he wasn’t aware about the same. The staff could not answer the same. But i think if you can it would be appreciated. What did you do with those two kababs? Y did u take it away and when i enquired about the same the staff said that due to too much crowd it might have been a miss. So y cannot there be a mistake in taking the order. Y did you not ask us then? What did I say before you toon that food away? What prompted you to do that? Anyways after such a bad experience the staff was courteous enough to offer me those two kababs which I won’t eat as i dun know where were these two all...
Read moreExtremely Disappointed with Punjab Grill – A Premium Name, But Substandard Experience!
I had high expectations when I visited Punjab Grill, known for its "royal" North Indian cuisine, but the reality was shockingly disappointing.
We ordered Kadhai Paneer and Palak Paneer, among other items. To our utter disbelief:
🔴 Kadhai Paneer was nothing more than paneer cubes drowned in plain tomato gravy — no depth, no masalas, no flavor that justifies the "kadhai" tag. It felt like a half-hearted attempt to just fill the plate.
🟢 Palak Paneer was even worse — the spinach was raw and undercooked, giving a bitter taste and an unpleasant texture. One would expect a place like Punjab Grill to know the basics of cooking spinach properly.
And here's the shocking part — when we brought it to the staff's attention, the Chef himself came out and accepted the mistake. While we appreciate the honesty, it only confirmed that the food was not up to the mark and was served without proper checks.
We came in expecting a premium dining experience, but instead got a lesson in how even well-known restaurants can compromise quality. No compensation offered, no genuine apology, and we left with our evening completely ruined.
Punjab Grill may survive on its brand name, but experiences like this will surely erode customer trust. For the prices they charge, this kind of food and service is unacceptable.
👎 Definitely not recommending this to anyone who values quality food and service. 🛑 Needs serious internal review — both in the kitchen and in...
