Alcoves Restaurant — Restaurant in Goa

Ordered via swiggy, today ordered beef biryani and sausage pulav. Both dishes were totally rubbish. I often order from this restaurant, always the food has been at par. I always give 5 stars. I repeated my last order as I liked the food sent last time. But this time they sent sausage pulav with all chewy fat pieces(looked like somebody specially picked the unwanted pieces and made the dish) instead of any sausage meat. Thus the entire dish was tasting only of oil and had no taste. The beef biryani as well had undercooked chewy beef pieces difficult to impossible to chew; There was no gravy what so ever and the rice tasted like boiled rice with spices. If their chef who usually cooks was not available they should have informed me to choose something else instead of sending inedible food. I would have rather boiled rice and eaten than wasting my money like this. In this pandemic times when we are trying to order from you'll , you'll should take care and not make people feel like it was a waste of their money spent which is almost impossible to earn for people like us these days....

Had ordered Chicken Tikka Masala and Chili Paneer through Zomato... Overall the experience was pretty good...

The Tikka Masala was alot more gravy than it was dry.... Prices are really reasonable for about 200 bucks.... Best with Naans and Rotis..

Chilli Paneer had a bit less quantity and it costs about 200 bucks as well... You get about 6-7 pieces of Paneer... Taste was pretty average not perfect....

Still you'll find better Chilli Paneer at nearby restaurants than here.... Not really recommended for this dish...

A simple and lovely restaurant with a very humble owner and good service.

The restaurant is located close to the historic caves in Margao Market lane.

Small cozy with 15 capacity on up floor and about 10 on ground level. The service is quick and they do ask for the feedback.

We tried beef steak and sausage chilli fry and they were cooked great.
