We wanted to have lunch in the original/main baba au rhumb outlet but there was a waiting time of 1hr min. So we were directed to their bigger newer eatery setup.. 2.0... it is not far off from the main outlet but be sure of Google Maps not fooling you... in our case we had a detour of around 7Kms... Now, without further ado.... The actual review of the restaurant.... They have free parking with security guards assisting you park better. There is green cover to protect your car from heating up if that concerns you... AMBIENCE: While entering and also on the inside you'll find plants giving the restaurant a cool and pleasant vibe along with a touch bohemian setup... The bar is a small wooden cottage... neat and clean from the exterior... They have a small pool behind the bar where kids were having a splash to beat the heat.... The washrooms are located at the entry on the right but nicely separated with announcement boards and pinned flyers... The washrooms are clean with a room freshener spray bottle provided for ensuring people don't have to endure filthy and foul smell from the previous use. I personally found this as a fantastic idea...
FOOD: Their menu is more or less similar to the original/main outlet... however be advised to check for the availability and customizations.... one of the dishes we ordered was white sauce pasta and hoped to get penne... instead, after enquiring I found out it was going to be spaghetti (a mood spoiler for me... but I gave in due to the starvation and expectations of the main outlet)... The serve was filling for 1 person but I expected siders as well... we ordered other delicacies as well since we were a group of 4 people... The standout was the nuttela pancake... sumptuous...!!!.... The coffees and shakes weren't bad either... Enquire on the availability of the beers as well since not all brands mentioned are available to be served....
SERVICE: The service is good and at a good pace even though the footfall was rising gradually and the early occupants showed no signs...
Read moreWell, it's a famous cafe & we went for a late breakfast/brunch
The entry is nondescript in a lane, with a small parking sign at front. The cafe is a rustic place with Bohemian Vibes.
However that's about it on the positive side. We had scheduled a reservation for 11:15 am table and when we reached there, it was already full which suggests it is indeed a famous place. It's not the original one, and an extension of the one on Vagator.
We were given a table after 15 minutes wait time, and once we were givent eh table we were quickly forgotten about.
After we signalled quite vigorously someone came to take an order and we ordered Vietnamese Coffee, regular coffee, their famous Sandwiches in Croissant, sourdough bruschetta, quiche.
It took almost an hour and that too in batches and multiple reminders killing the vibe almost thoroughly. Each time we were provided a sorry from the owner, and mentioning that they were full and orders were in abundance. At the end we were served one item less, and we called it a day to end our gruesome experience. The weather too which was hot & humid played it's role, and we were in no mood to further excruciate ourselves.
The restaurant is merely apologetic, that too superficially. That's what I felt, as merely saying sorry everytime for your lapse is nothing but just trying to cover up their inadequacies. Genuinely if they are concerned, they should increase wait time, reduce tables or increase staff. None of that is happening as customers are the one who will be at the suffering end here.
I would suggest that the food taste is average at best, nothing fantastic that when you eat after an hour's ordeal, it will not feel, worth the wait.
To GO or not to GO??

Read moreLove love love, absolutely in love with this place. Visited in the month of August and this place deserves a special mention for its location, the art and decor, vibe, food, service and all the smiling faces that greet you with so much warmth. Went there for brunch and boy were we glad we ended up there!
The seating area is divided into many sections with comfortable options to chose from, the best part, they have a pool which guests can access, what better way to spend a vacation then sipping on to your cocktails by the pool! Was delighted and how by it.
The place is beautifully done, airy with lots of natural light pouring in alongside flora and fauna. We started off with a smoothie bowl which was absolutely delicious, didn’t feel like changing a thing about it. Then we kick started with some gin and rum based cocktails suggested by our server which again were mind blowing. We paired them up with zucchini cigar rolls which were refreshing and delicate on the palette. We also tried the margarita pizza, loved the crust and mozzarella crostini. They have a mind boggling variety of food on the menu both for vegetarians as well as non vegetarians. Lastly, if you too are someone who loves bread, they have the most amazing baguettes and various other kinds of bread.
So if you’re in Goa, this gem of a cafe has to be on top of your things to do...
