End of November 2024, a group of elderly people whilst on their pilgrimage trip to Goa (1st time for some of them) chose to dine at this restaurant and were unfortunate to order their Fish Meals. All of them were affected badly and a few suffered severe side effects of what was terrible food poisoning from the food they assumed was fresh & safe for consumption. When i say severe i mean projectile vomiting & diarrhoea, needing emergency ambulance assistance, wheel chair bound, stretcher bound , needing emergency IV medical intervention at ungodly hours of the night. The group of 12 were all hit with varying degrees of illness which allowed them with god’s grace to look after each other and care for one another over the course of the coming hours & days. They needed to book for emergency flights back to their home state as opposed to catching the pre-paid train as per schedule, needless to say their holy journey to Goa was cut short & left with lasting mental trauma & stress, not only to them but also to their loved ones across the world. The Food Authorities in Goa MUST MUST MUST look into this serious matter with urgency so this negligence does not repeat and harm more unsuspecting people dining at Bharat Cafe - Bar, Goa. This establishment must take accountability for having caused such a severe emergency which could have potentially been fatal to some of these victims due to their older age & medical history. The owner of this place MUST get in touch with the victims and make necessary arrangements for compensation to cover medical expenses & flights at the very least. This was heartbreaking and insulting experience. We went for dinner and chose to be seated at AC section. The waiter was very rude, he literally threw menu cards on our table. Then he kept popping up every 3rd minute asking rudely “have you decided yet”. We asked him to give us some time but he was impatient. We ordered penne pesto, it was made in such a poor preparation, too much oil just settled at the bottom, green sauce was not at all mixed well. We told the waiter that this is not how pesto sauce is prepared. Then this guy asked us to leave and while leaving asked us to inform people at the counter.
