Caffe Sicily, Anjuna – Great Pizzas, But Poor Service and Overpriced
Caffe Sicily is tucked away in Anjuna, North Goa, and offers a charming outdoor seating area that’s perfect for leisurely brunches or casual meetups with friends. The café is known for its Italian-style wood-fired pizzas and Mediterranean-inspired charm—but unfortunately, our experience was a mixed bag.
🍽️ What We Ordered:
French Fries Garlic Bread Diavola Pizza Francesca Pizza
🍕 Food: Tasty but Not Worth the Price
The pizzas were undoubtedly tasty—crispy crust, balanced flavours, and high-quality ingredients. The Diavola had a nice spicy kick, while the Francesca was aromatic and unique thanks to the pesto-marinated chicken and sundried tomatoes. Sides like the garlic bread and fries were delectable too. However, despite the good taste, the pricing was excessive. Charging nearly 7x the ingredient cost for pizzas in a casual, café-style setting feels unjustified. Even premium restaurants generally mark up to 3–4x. For the kind of experience and setup offered here, the prices seem inflated.
👎 Service: A Major Letdown
Unfortunately, the service fell well below expectations: While other tables were served complimentary iced tea shots, our table was skipped. When we asked, the server nonchalantly replied, “Would you like to try?”—which made the gesture feel more like a sales pitch than hospitality.
At billing, a woman walked up with a card machine, quoted the total, and swiped our card without showing the actual bill. It was only when we insisted on a receipt that we noticed a service charge of ₹197.44 had been added. Upon questioning, the manager coolly stated that if we weren’t happy with the service, we could have opted out. But this was never communicated. Hiding the bill until after the payment is a tactic to conceal charges—and it feels dishonest.
💸 Verdict
Food: ✅ Tastes good Ambience: ✅ Pleasant, great for a brunch date Service: ❌ Poor, inattentive, and borderline shady Pricing: ❌ Unjustifiably high for a casual café
⚖️ Final Thoughts:
Caffe Sicily has the potential to be a go-to pizza spot in Goa—but only if they fix their service culture and pricing ethics. Until then, it's hard to recommend it beyond the quality of their pizza.

Nestled in the heart of Anjuna, Caffe Sicily offers a culinary journey that tantalizes the taste buds and warms the soul. On a recent visit, we had the pleasure of indulging in their famed Ortolana Pizza and Garlic Bread crafted with a six-year-old sourdough culture.
The Ortolana Pizza was a masterpiece of flavors and textures. Each bite revealed a symphony of fresh vegetables, harmonizing with the creamy mozzarella and fragrant basil. The thin crust, baked to perfection, provided the ideal foundation, crispy yet delightfully chewy, allowing the toppings to shine without overwhelming the palate.
Accompanying the pizza was the Garlic Bread, a testament to the artistry of Caffe Sicily's baking. Made using a sourdough culture aged for six years, it boasted a depth of flavor and complexity rarely found in such a humble dish. The crust crackled enticingly with each bite, giving way to a soft, airy interior infused with the subtle tang of the sourdough. Generously smeared with garlic butter and sprinkled with herbs, it was a delightful complement to the vibrant flavors of the Ortolana Pizza.
Beyond the culinary experience, Caffe Sicily exudes an inviting ambiance, with friendly staff that make you feel right at home. The outdoor seating area offers a cozy retreat from the bustling streets of Anjuna, perfect for savoring a leisurely meal with friends or loved ones.
In conclusion, Caffe Sicily at Anjuna is a culinary gem that captivates both the senses and the spirit. Whether you're a devout pizza aficionado or simply seeking an unforgettable dining experience, be sure to make a pilgrimage to Caffe Sicily – your taste buds...

Please do give their Wood-fired Cheese Garlic Bread, served with an amazing garlicky, creamy dip, and the Zingara Pizza, a true delight for chicken lovers.
While the Alfredo Pasta (spaghetti) was a bit too salty and umami-heavy for my taste, the outstanding Pizza and Garlic bread more than make up for it.
The kind and attentive service also contributes to the 5-star experience.
I’ve also heard rave reviews about their Carrot Cake and Tiramisu, although I didn't get the chance to try them myself. If you have a sweet tooth, these desserts are definitely worth a try.
