We visited this place in Early March and I was pretty excited to try out a few items here as the reviews were amazing.
However, once I actually entered the place, the things were different.
They do not book beforehand. If you are a western you get a warm welcome and a place is arranged if not already reserved. If you are an Indian family expect a corner place If you have ordered anything expect the least courtesy possible, I requested a plate to help feed my son, I did not get it untill I checked out after 45 mins As per the resto person serving us, this place is good only for view as it is next by the water, which I did not understand untill I ordered I ordered an item as suggested, after I recieved the steak after 35 mins, it came to be a steak which was pre boiled, stirred in a pre cooked paste of salt and chilly and served after warming up. The ambience is pretty good like every other review has said... The only good thing
I didn't want to spoil my night as I got the feeling what was going on, I cleared my bill and left for Ourem 88 immediately.
Forgot mentioning that while there are other places which were owned and operated by westerns, I visited a few during my stay and liked by me, this one was the one of the most memorable places only because I was made to feel unwelcomed.
Guess that's the strategy, don't say No to Indians, just make them feel so unwelcomed that they won't come.
Guess what, we will not !!
Hope you feel sorry for your behaviour, before it's too late for you !
Will, thanks for the kind gesture to reply back. Appreciate it and love to know that you are not racist.
I usually prefer not to give negative feedback for anyone, and if you take note I am giving this feedback after a month, as it is still with me when I think of Goa in general.
I have tasted delicacies over all places being a foodie and beleive me when I say it was not good. Maybe just this night, maybe just with me being a busy night, but it was !!
PS: Your number is not there on Google maps, so don't know how others pre book. Maybe you want to look into it.

Read moreFor those that follow my ramblings on the Goan forum will know I don't write or do reviews.||||Mostly reviews are subjective, one mans food is another mans dislike, however, every now and again a restaurant pops up that is beyond exceptional. Kala Bahia is this and requires my fingers to hit the keyboard.||||You firstly have to search out where Kala is. Along the Northern side of Patnem rocks, past a pizza place, over a timber walkway and there you are. On the waters/rocks edge, shaded by coco and that rattan and bamboo roof. Simple marble table tops sit in the main area with a lower crash deck style with cushions and low tables. A very chill setting away from the beach, the heat with that cooling sea breeze framed with picture perfect view.||||OK, you got the setting, a place that lulls you into the perfect soft Canacona groove.||||The menu is simple yet different, different enough to set this place aside from others. Umami is the description of the taste that they achieve, Japanese name for the ‘fifth taste’, basically that something extra. They certainly manage that something extra, simple food that gives pleasure in the presentation but then goes that extra mile when the taste buds are caressed.||||The Americano coffee 100 rup is competitive, and the correct strength for me. French toast honey, roasted apple & caramelised nuts 200 rup, you get a sense of where the Umami is coming from with those little touches.||||How to make eggs Florentine 330 rup different, special? I don’t know but the French chef manages it with simplicity.||||Fresh juice, Turmeric Elixir-carrot, pineapple, lime & turmeric 180 rup has got to be worth a try.||||The roasted pepper bruschetta, fresh herbs and goat cheese 250 rup as a light bite again lights up the taste buds.||||OK people you get where I’m coming from with this, for me to review it has to excel, it has and it did.||||Top marks to Will & Matilda||||Long live Goa, long live Kala...
