HIlltop Seaview Goa — Hotel in Goa

We stayed for 4 days at the hilltop view, Palolem on our recent visit to Goa and it was one of the best stays we came across here.

Pros: Best thing about this place is the location of the stay, because it is absolutely in front of the sea and as soon as you step out of the stay there is this vast beautiful ocean that you can see. It's just at the end of palolem beach and you can take a 2 min walk to reach there.

The owner of this place, Ashvit who became a very good friend and tried to help us with most of our requests is a genuine person and tries the best he can. The family members, uncle, aunty are also very nice. So thank you Ashvit and family for hosting us so nicely.

The stay was quite pocket-friendly and we got an entire 2BHK in front of the sea at a very good cost. Ashvit, the owner also arranged gas - cylinder and kitchen utensils for us to cook at a very nominal price.

There are friendly dogs, we called them Tommy and Nala who made it even more beautiful and its a bonus for the pet-lovers that way and the pets are not going to trouble you.

We luckily got an additional music system in our stay, and it was a really good add on.

If you are looking for a long term or short term stay, you will get everything(laundry/grocery/restaurants) nearby and would absolutely love it, I believe.

Cons: There was little shortage of water on the first day but it was sufficient for us and got better with the rest of the days. We did not face any issue because of that.

For some reason there was some issue with the restaurant on the property and we had to order food from outside and it was ok but not very good. I hope on our next visit the in-house restaurant would also be functional.

So overall I loved this place and the owners are very co-operative and I would want to visit again, for even longer stays.

I would highly recommend this place for all kinds of group, friends / families/ or even solo.

Most unprofessional experience i have ever encountered.

Here sharing my entire experience: I was trying to make bookings a month earlier as we were planning our Goa trip on long weekend. I called the resort owner on the call and asked to check availability. He said AC rooms are available on the required dates. He asked me to pay 5000 Rs in Advance to confirm the booking. Owner was very quick with the replies. Once the amount paid online, he stopped responding to my texts. He didn't even sent any message/email about booking confirmation.

After calling him continuously for 3-4 days, he responded us with call saying that AC rooms are not available. Then, we had no choice but book the non-AC rooms. I asked him at least 15-20 times to send us some confirmation about our bookings. Finally, we got message quoting "Confirmed" on WhatsApp.

On our check-in day, we arrived at the resort and we got information that all the rooms are booked and we have no place to stay in the resort. Owner was trying to convince us to stay in a very bad bad rooms for one night. He did not seem to put any efforts searching for more resorts/rooms. Fortunately, we ourselves found one good Villa to stay for one night.

We were asking for one matrice and pillow to the Hilltop owner as the Villa which we found were running out of it. Hilltop owner took 1 more hour of us to get it to us. Instead of apologizing to us, he said to us "Bhaiya maine bataye hue resort mein reh lete. Mera bhi business chala gaya".

Even on next day, rooms were not ready when we arrived. He made us wait for almost 1 hour on second day too.

If you want to ruin your vacations, you must visit...

Arriving at Hill Top Sea View Cottages is bit of an ordeal. Even though the reception supposed to be open 24/7 there is no-one to help you through the jungle path with you luggage when you arrive at the closest accessible point by car. We had booked the family cottage and quite frankly it was a bit disappointing. At the price of 3300 IRS per night (incl. taxes), one would at least expect to find a comfortable and clean cottage waiting. ||To our great dismay, we could the place uncleaned, leftover food in an uncleaned fridge, dirty and wanting kitchenwares and mucky floors. Under normal circumstances you would expect a cottage for four people equipped with glasses and cutlery for four, but not so at Hill Top Sea View.||Their description on Booking.com said the cottage had two double beds with moquito nets. We found one double bed and the they brought two very worn mattresses for the kids. No mosquitonet for the second bed. Luckily we had brought our own.||When we complained, we found our hosts very uncooperative. All kinds of stories emerged as to why everything was in shambles, but unfortunately our hosts had not corroborated their stories which made them come across as insincere. Their service was equally wanting. At times it took them 24 hours to deliver a roll of toilet paper. We bought our own at the local store. ||They demanded payment up front and since we had booked for seven days through booking.com, we had to stay for the full period in order not loose money. Not once during this time was our unit serviced. ||True, the view is great, but you are basically sitting on the top of a garbage dump. Don't look to the sides...
