One star only for this place for the discrimination we faced from a Nepali waiter/staff who made excuses to give us a sun-bed when we arrived. We were 2 couples and wanted to spend the first half of the day at this beach enjoying our swim, beers and food here but when we arrived and asked for the sun-beds the waiter flatly refused saying there were no sun-beds available though we saw some of them available. When we pointed to the empty ones he said they are already reserved for some foreign guests 🧐 We strongly felt from his overall tone and attitude that he is keeping the sun-beds available to foreigners who may or may not come as is the norm in most of Goa and making petty excuses. The owner of the shack must look into such discriminatory behaviour by his staff very seriously or he would keep losing some high spending Indian customers. Me and my friend took a stand that we will take the sun-beds irrespective of the reservation and if someone comes we will vacate it. No one came and also other sun-beds got vacant in the meanwhile 😂 We reminded the waiter that we Indian tourists supported them during the Covid period as no foreigners were coming to Goa and all their business came from Indians during that period. How can they be so ungrateful and prefer foreigners over Indians. Had it not been for us most of the shack owners would have had to pack up and close. I have in all my 20+ years of Goa travels seen foreigners mostly are budget travellers, drinking sasta beer and Old Monk with finger chips or salad. No complaints against them as they come to India with a daily budget in mind. But we Indians spend much much more than them which these shack owners or staff fail to see. Again I would like to say the location is very good. We loved it. Spent a good time there and also spent more than 5k on drinks and food. So go there, enjoy and shamelessly claim your rights if they prefer foreigners over Indians...
Read moreWent there to have dinner with family after reading good reviews about the hospitality & food taste, quality etc. Ordered mix sea food soup, beef sizzler & tiger prawn sizzler. Soup was nice, beef was good in taste but prawn sizzler was a disaster. Prawns seemed unfresh, undercooked as they were hard to chew and blend. My wife and kid had it quietly as they usually don't complaint about food but when they left 2 prawns out of the 5 served then I asked why is it so and then got to know that they don't like it at all. Had one myself to check and realised they were terrible. One more thing to add, the quantity of rice was very less in both sizzlers and hardly enough for one person. Beef steak was moderately priced at INR 450, however, we were charged INR 1500 for the prawn sizzler. Now there is a catch, price of prawn sizzler was not mentioned on the menu card hence we asked the owner of the restaurant (who was taking our order) and he replied it is INR 1000/1050 but when we received the bill we were charged 1500. We paid and left never to come back to his place, ever. (They provide hand written bills, so there is no rate code as well for the particular food item, so they can charge you a bomb)
So at the end of our meal we felt cheated, repented for selecting this restaurant for our dinner and my family remained hungry.
We had one other option to go for dinner which is at Benaulim beach but selected this one because of sizzler availability.
I usually write reviews when I have either phenomenal or terrible experience, in this case it is...
Read moreOur food choice went horribly wrong at this place which happened only once in the whole trip, so it can't be just us. Veg starters were ok and considering that we ordered a fish in Goan style whole Mullet or something suggested by the staff ( price given as per the size). the preparation was such we never saw it at any other place - tasted completely off, even fish was not appealing fresh. Staff was overall fine, but Mr. Javed gets too happy in the evening it seems which can be inconvenient to some customers. Overall I think our evening would have been better if we chosen...
