Mumma’s Corner is located in Patto, where parking charges are as certain as death and taxes. And don’t think you’ll be spared if you’re on a two-wheeler - the CCP of Panaji for parking is tougher than the Z security for any PM. They’ll surely charge any car parked there. But fear not, there’s sufficient parking available.
We ventured into Gera and at that corner somewhere, on the right (because Mummas are always right), we saw the board for Mumma’s Corner. We were welcomed by a bar counter, but nooo, we don’t drink. So we ventured further in. Unfortunately, it wasn’t that big so we settled for a wooden chair. On the table was a flower pot and a menu card. We waited for the waiter and ordered Limbu soda - it was good with just the right amount of soda and sugar.
We also ordered Paneer Tikka - oh my goodness, it was as good as Chicken Tikka (I can just imagine that MDH ad playing in my head now while writing this). It was delicious and even the salad with it was great. We also ordered Chicken Hakka Noodles - it was yummy too. They actually put lots of chicken in it, unlike others. We had heard a lot about their Chicken Biryani being very good but we weren’t that happy with it. It had eggs and a biggggg chicken leg piece. The masala on it was good but it didn’t live up to our expectations - that was a disappointment. The service wasn’t that great either. Being located inside, it’s a little difficult to see and I guess not many people actually reach there.
Overall, Mumma’s Corner is a nice place to visit if you’re in Patto. The food is generally good (with the exception of the Chicken Biryani) and the Limbu soda is refreshing. Just be prepared to pay for parking and don’t expect...
