Disclaimer – My reviews are based on my personal experiences and are not sponsored by anyone. I travel, explore and write my reviews and hope it will come in handy to some intrepid traveller. Read so many reviews of this place and the ratings it garnered piqued my interest in trying out the joint. I personally prefer joints which are very local irrespective of it being a hole in the wall to a starred eatery. Mikeys had all the prerequisites for my list and I was disappointed is an understatement. The look and feel from the outside is smart with double glazed windows and doors. Once you walk in you are greeted to a large space with tables strewn around and space for live music. I was intrigued and looked forward to my experience! The price (mentioned are less taxes) is anything but reasonable and I would categorize it as on the higher side. A plate of prawns (king prawns) is over Rs 1000 and in goa that’s steep considering you get only 7 pieces of the prawns with their head and tail intact which increases the wastage to around 40%. The quality of the preparation was strictly OK but when one equates it with the cost, surely not adequate for a value for money one. Another stand out price, spicy chicken wings is upwards of Rs 750 and it is strictly passable! Alcohol is not cheap either and an Indian single malt will set you back by about Rs 500 for 30 ml, costs reminded me of restaurants back in Bombay. I was wondering if I was in Goa at all. Post an early departure, my friend and I returned to my hotel, which was a 5 star one and headed to the bar to satiate our craving for a few more rounds of tipple. Lo and behold, the rates of a Paul John was cheaper here than Mikeys! Also to note is that they have a live band through Thursday to Sunday and gets rather loud, so if you are planning a trip with friends or someone special and want to chat, its an absolutely nonstarter! Do not get flattered by the costs mentioned on these food app/ review sites as there is no chance of anyone having a meal for two at Rs1200 per head unless you are happy with fries and dal and rice! With alcohol (Indian whisky/ 2 x 60 ml)I would price it around the Rs 3000 per head at the least, our bills was Rs 7500 (for two). This place is surely off my list and recommendations and hope its helps travellers understand how expensive Goa...

While their food and cocktails are undeniably "mad good," what truly sets Mikey's apart is its incredible people. From the moment you step in, you're enveloped in genuine hospitality and a warm welcome. The professionalism of the staff shines through in everything they do. Our waiters and waitresses were exceptionally attentive, anticipating and catering to our every need with a smile.
Though it was a dinner for two and we didn't sample the entire menu but whatever we ordered was outstanding. The Crab Lollipop, Chicken Crispy, and Prawn Calamari starters were bursting with flavor and perfectly prepared. For our main course, the Chicken Sizzler and Seafood Sizzler were equally impressive. The seafood in particular was incredibly fresh and tasted divine, making the entire meal truly satisfying.
The cocktails were equally magnificent! Each one looked like a work of art, served in beautiful, fancy glassware. We indulged in the Pina Colada, the wonderfully fruity Cuddle Me More, a classic Strawberry Margarita, and the vibrant Corona Sunrise – all were absolutely top-notch.
To end our meal, the Blueberry Cheesecake and Chocolate Brownie with Ice Cream were the perfect sweet treats. While Mikey's might lean towards the slightly more expensive side, it is absolutely worth every penny for the quality of the food, drinks, and exceptional service.
We visited on a Saturday for their "Goan Nights" theme, and it was a blast! The MC, Anwar, was so energetic and fun, keeping the atmosphere lively with spot prizes, games, and fantastic live music.
Honestly, everyone visiting Goa should add Mikey's to their itinerary....
Read moreMikey’s Place has been one of the most happening spots in Candolim since 2010, and after our recent visit, we can totally see why! We dropped by for their Goan Night, which happens every Saturday—and trust us, the vibe was pure magic. With soulful Goan music playing in the background, chilled Goan drinks flowing, and a super energetic atmosphere, the evening was off to a perfect start.
We kicked things off with their Urrak Cocktail, served in a traditional Goan earthenware glass—authentic and refreshing! Then came the highlight: their Seafood Platter, one of the best we’ve had in Goa! It had everything—Pomfret, Kingfish, Chonak, Prawns, and Squids, all cooked in a mix of Goan and Continental styles. Truly a seafood lover’s dream.
Next, we dug into their Classic Chicken Cafreal—juicy, spicy, and bursting with flavor. The fun didn’t stop at the table either; the night had interactive games that were super engaging and added to the overall lively experience.
We also tried their Mushroom Recheado with Sanna, which was spicy, tangy, and so satisfying. For the mains, the Chicken Florentine with its creamy richness won us over completely.
To wrap it all up, we indulged in their homely Goan dessert—Alle Belle. Soft, sweet, and filled with coconut goodness—it was the perfect end to a perfect evening.
Verdict: If you’re in Goa and want an unforgettable night filled with great food, drinks, music, and memories, Mikey’s Place in Candolim is the...
