Yesterday was a special day for @munchatti and me. We decided to lunch it out at @toulagoa and boy were we in for a surprise? . We stared off with a Dark Surprise Mocktail (1) for the Mrs., a masala syrup with lime juice, lime wedges, mint leaves and Cola. I stuck to a Hoegaarden (2) which came embellished with the customary lemon wedge. Quickly came the bar bites - a Bang bang chicken (3) which essentially was hand pounded chicken mince on skewers that was bread crumbed and fried. Yum! This was served with a delicious Bang Bang Sauce. Trés Bien. ❤️ Along with this was the Ginger Crumbed Pork Bites (4) which was tender pork marinated in a blend of Asian flavour’s and coated in a crunchy ginger crumb mixture. This was all right but my vote goes to the Bang Bang Chicken. . Next came the Fish Tacos (5 & 6) - soft shell tacos with crispy batter fried goujons of sea bass topped with fresh sour cream & cheddar, on homemade salsa and avocado jalapeño emulsion. I loved this and ended up eating almost all of it. ♥️ . The Dahi ke Kebab (7 & 8) served with mint chutney, were savoury hung yoghurt patties coated with semolina and fried! This dish easily stole my heart! I loved what the chef’s had done to the onion rings along with the mint chutney. Like they say, God is in the small details. No? 😋 . The Pork Buckwheat noodles (9) with toasted sesame oil and umami filled pepper sauce was delicious too. 😍 . We stopped with the Chicken Tikka masala with some Laccha Parathas (10,11 & 12), which reminded me of the good old days when I used to have them during trips to Delhi. 🤤 . We were feeling satiated with all that we’d had but the steward, Nitin, insisted we try out the Coco Toula (13 & 14), their home made icecream which was a sure winner. With delicate but complex flavours that played with our palates. This surely was the perfect ending to a beautifully orchestrated meal. 😗😙😚 . Many thanks to @detales_communications for the recommendation. I guess the small detailing that was done with every serving was the highlight of this great...

Incredible food, cocktails, service and vibe.
From my experience restaurants of this atmospheric caliber do not pay much attention to the food and flavors, the menus offer much and leave you disappointed, but for Toula? No. They beat the odds.
We arrived and were warmly greeted on Saturday evening, barely a guest in the dining room, and were sat in the comfortable and chic seating arrangements.
In a quick moment our server came to assist, he was competent, kind and not overbearing. forgive me as I did not catch his name. The drink order was taken, I tried two beer cocktails. Lagerita & the option with peach. They both were crisp, bright and gave me a warm buzz where you can drink and enjoy yourself and not feel like you’ve overdone it.
We ordered shortly after. The menu being as diverse as it was originally terrified us because we’ve all experienced a restaurant who thinks they can do it all but really can all do dal if you know what I mean — Toula is NOT that. We placed our order, with hope in our hearts that they could pull it all off.
Pork soup dumplings Dragon roll Pad Thai Mushroom risotto Crispy pork belly on carrot puree Miso ramen
It was all..perfect. Perfectly seasoned, crispy where it needed to be, spicy when it mattered and savory/sweet to pull it all together.
I had my Ego Ratatouille moment and saw colors dance before my eyes and in my heart.
The compliments to the entire staff for a FABULOUS experience.
We spoke with the executive chef as well, he has the magic touch and if Toula continues their journey with this chef by their side…we will always be regulars!
They provided us with a beautiful amuse bouche sized dessert that displayed their skilled patisserie and we will definitely save room for dessert on our next visit!
10/10 experience and this is coming from a HARSH critic.

Read moreToula Bar and Kitchen in Candolim offers a dining experience that goes beyond typical tourist food. It's clear they aim for a higher level of quality, that too in all aspects of dining. From the moment you sit down, the attentive service, like that from Miss Shilpa and Mr. Chetan, creates a feeling of refined elegance.
The menu is well-chosen, showing both creative dishes and classic cooking skills. The 4 Cheese Garlic Bread, though simple, had complex flavors, showing the use of good ingredients and careful preparation. The Pitaya salad, with its dragonfruit and pickled vegetables, was a refreshing mix of textures and tastes. The Jade Vegetables Dumplings, delicate and full of flavor, proved the kitchen's skill with Asian food.
The hospitality, led by Mr. Nitin, was outstanding. A kind and unexpected gesture for our son showed a level of personal service that makes dining a special experience.
We were so spoiled that a second visit was needed and it confirmed the consistent quality of Toula's food. The drinks were expertly made, showing a good understanding of mixology. The pizza, perfectly balanced, had a crisp crust and well-chosen toppings. The special homemade ice cream was a sweet and satisfying end to the meal.
Beyond the food, Toula's decor is a visual delight. Each corner is thoughtfully designed, creating a picturesque and tasteful atmosphere. The overall feel is both stylish and welcoming, making it a perfect spot for a memorable meal.
In an area often filled with average restaurants, Toula Bar and Kitchen stands out as a place of excellent dining experience. To miss this restaurant while in and around Candolim would be a mistake. This is not just a meal; it's a carefully planned dining experience that deserves high praise. We wish the team well and can’t...
