PORTO FINO TAVERN — Restaurant in Goa

Horrible. They don't deliver on the flavours promised in the menu. The Feta stuffed squid had not the slightest taste of Feta. The chicken rolled and stuffed with ham & cheese had no cheese. The fish steak with clam sauce was a joke as it was 550 but the steak was are 3 inches small. Smallest steak I ever had, if you can call it a steak. the sauce taste ok but the clams were overcooked and chewy. The tuna nicoise salad was unseasoned and had no flavour due to a lack of dressing. It was like plain cut up veggies with some Tuna chunks. Their only saving grace was their dessert. We had the blueberry and strawberry pannacotta accompanied by chocolate mousse which was good, this was the onlywe enjoyed at Portofino. Also the reason I am giving only 1 star is coz though i complained to the waiters abt the lack of promised flavours the owner/chef didn't bother to come to the table to talk to us abt it. Authentic Italian Food. To walked in with asking for vegetarian options and they were very courteous to make me a special Spaghetti Pasta with White Sauce. With limited vegetarian options I was starting to be sceptical about how would my food taste , but the moment it was served I was taken by surprise, not to exaggerate but the food was delicious & worth every penny paid. The ambiance is really relaxing with sober music. To add to the onus the Chef Are Italian & it was the second day after the season opened up for them so I was surely lucky. It’s not much popular though as they’ve not marketed it . But trust me guys when in Goa this is place you’ll should visit if you’ll plan on hogging on some genuine Italian Delight..
