I never expected this from a reputed chain like Justa Hotels in the hotel industry. I have been to Justa hotels at different places in India a couple of times before but never had this experience. Prior to booking a couple of months before I contacted Justa representative at Bangalore (not mentioning the name to protect the privacy) who has always helped me in booking a good property. This time he suggested Justa Morjim for my stay in Goa. On his recommendations, I saw the property pictures which were satisfactorily good but when I saw the reviews on various portals, they had mentioned that the suite room (the expensive of all the rooms they have) has issues with the washroom and bath tub. As, I was traveling with my 4 year old kid, I always wanted a Suite room during my stay. I conveyed my issue to Justa representative and he directed me to Mr. Sanjiv who is the GM and looks after this property. After having a conversation with Mr. Sanjiv , he assured me that I will get the best service and no issues will be there especially with the suite room during my stay. So, I finalized the property for my stay from 29 June to 2 July 2023. After checking and getting into the room on 29 June 2023, I felt that I made a wrong decision by trusting Justa. The washroom door is so hard that it never gets closed, water gets logged in the wash basin and the worst part is the bath tub for which you pay is not at all in good condition. There are issues with the shower panel, water logging and the floor. On conveying the same Mr. Sanjiv did try to resolve the issue partially but it looks like the problem is so severe that he can't do much. Still during my stay, the washroom is not repaired properly. I must admit as a courtesy they did offer me a free coffee and sandwich along with some fruits but I don't think so this would help in making my stay better. Really disappointed with the property and will never recommend this property to anyone in future. And yes, if you show my review to Mr. Sanjiv he might say that 10% of people have tendencies to post negative reviews as he said this to me to convince. I am not targeting any individual personally but Justa should seriously consider this issue. Other issues: worst parking area which has no lights, no security and full of mud, limited food options. We booked a room through the manager, Mr. Sanjeev. He shared various options and we selected the one which we liked the most. Google reviews were good so we didn't think twice before paying in advance. We had an overnight flight and wanted to check in as early as possible so that we could rest and start our first girls trip. We checked even a day before arriving with Sanjeev that we would be able to check in early and our rooms would be ready.
Upon reaching the hotel we were asked to pay the remaining amount before check in. We did as anyone would normally do. On reaching the room we witnessed fungus on the mattress, water dripping on the sofa, bathroom walls leaking, water logging in the basin and flushing was a nightmare.
Within 5 minutes we realised that the room wasn't livable for even a day. We raised the issue with Sanjeev. He started offering us alternatives which included free food, free transport to beaches, and another smaller room or a room in another property which was much cheaper than what we had paid. We wanted a refund because the hotel misrepresented and duped us. We had a conversation with the Vice President as well. They promised to refund and sort the issue.
It has been more than a month since that day, multiple reminders only by us (no initiative taken by them), for 20-25 days they kept saying refund is under process. We patiently and calmly waited only to realise that we were being fooled. Now they are saying they can only give us a credit note. After a friend put up a review, Sanjeev himself has put a positive review for the property. The ethnicity of the so-called 4star rated property is highly questionable. The vice president calling at 11 in the night (2days ago after we have been literally begging to refund our hard earned money for more than a month now) to offer a solution says a lot about the professionalism of this chain.
Also, I forgot that we are still living in the barter system era. If we are not being given as promised we are supposed to adjust with whatever is being offered by the hotel in exchange. What a beautiful world it would be if we could also pay in jewelry or snacks or tomatoes to the hotel.

The property is about an hour from Mopa Airport (Goa North), 2 minutes (100 steps) from the beach, and surrounded by many restaurants and cafes.
It is a beach resort that has about 25 rooms, which makes for a pleasurable personalised experience. The front desk manager Siddharth took extra care of us right from the time we booked the property about a month or two before our visit. He helped us book a taxi from the airport to the hotel, and also helped us pre book a rental car from a provider near the hotel. Both those experiences also turned out to be nice.
With a decent pool in the midst of all the rooms, one can spend time at the property by the poolside, relaxing, listening to music with some snacks and drinks.
With the beach 2 minutes away, a morning walk to the beach can really set you up for the day. Not to miss the amazing shots and clicks you can capture. The beach houses many famous cafes and shacks, with Tomato's and Aloha standing out for us. Tomato's is again 2 minutes from the property and became our go to place for quick snacks and meals.
Wire Room, the restaurant inside the property serves a sumptuous breakfast in the morning with varieties being served each day. Placed on the first floor with air coming in from all sides, the Wire Room also became a destination to spend late evenings, talking into the night.
What truly stood out for us (group of 6) during the stay was the exceptional service from the staff overall. Anything we asked for, anytime of the day, was made available at the earliest. The staff was also very friendly and accommodating in all respects.
Being our first stay at Justa, we do look forward to exploring more Justa properties around the country. Think they have done a good job in spreading themselves...
