Small lake with abundance of wildlife: 2 resident otters; kingfishers; eagles; herons; egrets; cormorants etc. and other brightly coloured birds. Just grab a chair and watch/ listen - I spent at least 4 hours a day doing this!! No need to go to any special birdwatching sanctuary!!! Bogmalo Beach only 5 mins walk away. Eat with the locals at nearby cafes for R50 - R150 or choose from good selection of beach restaurants. I originally came for 2 days but stayed for 10!! Good to use as a base and get motorbike taxi tours of Old Goa etc. for R800, or car taxis, all can be arranged at Raikar. 4 rooms at moment, with fans for cooling, 6 more, with AC, soon finished building...
