So had heard this place serves a great Fish thali for rs.150 which is actually on a higher side in many restaurants in goa ( normal fish thali varies from 90 to 160 per thali ) & since I travel for food I went all the way to Morjim Goa to try it out. Well the fish was cooked well , but the size of the piece was miniscual and not even a mouthfull experience. The owner is extremely stingy in quantity and gave us curry in one very small bowl and no more after that was given if needed, all had to be extra charge. The rice quantity was scattered around the thali so that the dish looks full. He wanted everyone to order extra chargeable rice. The curry too was actually below average unfortunately. The place was clean, no wheelchair accessibility and good service. I assure you if you an average eater as well you would not be satisfied by half by the fish thali they serve. The attitude they give along with overly rated thali is the only thing you'll get unlimited. They served some scattered raw cabbage as well saying it was the 2nd vegetable along with some cooked and scattered green beans. One of the few places I regret gng , my advise is better to try out Goan fish thalis in proper Goan places where they give u a great quantity for 1 person with curry refills as well.... cause you deff not getting curry refills in Satpurush ( disappointing). Over all place was clean with quantity good enough for a 5 yr Old's appetite and zero courtesy. Would deff not want to go there ever again as I have limited days in Goa and love great food which I couldn't experience in Satpurush at Morjim . They deff had good...
Read moreAfter recommendation from the hotel staff and online reviews I went to this family run restaurant for a lunch. Ordered a goan fish thali and a plate of King fish which they offer as an add-on to the thali and not individually. After placing the order you have to wait for 15-20 minutes as food is prepared fresh. Food was good and flavour full. Light on stomach but filling. I even asked for extra curry and was provided free of cost. Only complaint is regarding the thickness of the fish but still manageable. Price is nominal as compared to what restaurants are charging in Goa.
They were playing old hindi movie songs from 70s which were very soothing. The setup is very basic and nothing fancy but clean and maintained. Plastic tables and chairs. This place is really popular and gets filled up in no time and sometimes even run out of fish so its better to call before going.
Parking is a challenge and they don't allow drinking alcohol or smoking inside...

There are other places that give a similar thali with much better quantity.
This place is a classic example of one which has most touch with its roots and the reason it got famous.
Came here three years ago and it was much better.
They also have an annoying thing now where they ask you to order every thing in one go. We ordered for prawns mid way during our lunch and they said they can't provide because they have to cater the dishes to the other new customers. I have never seen this happen in any restaurant ever.
Had the waiter told me the prawns were over we would have let it slip.
The portions of curry in the thali are small. Extra curry is chargeable even for a small bowl.
For a good thali experience would recommend BOMBIL in Panjim or Anand...
