I don't ever do a negative review but here I am because you can have good/bad food and ambience but if you don't have a good heart for your guests that's a shame.
I was walking by The Place and i loved the ambience and the smell of woodfired oven. I paused, and there was the cutest doggo that made me visit them. They were closing and i asked about the Gelato. They said they had it available and i took two of them. The vibe and the atmosphere felt really rude, as i was asking questions and they wouldn't respond. Either tell me you are closing or please help me place the order. I was annoyed but I can empathise that you must be tired, post a hard day's work. I took my take away gelatos and went away.
The Gelatos were nice, so next day during my evening walks, i got 3 of my friends as well to try. This time we were way before the closing time, but again I was met with the same coldness, no answer for the order, ambiguity, not answering while you are right on my face. I felt unwelcomed. Not Just unwelcomed, i felt their behaviour was a bit racist. It's very weird experiencing racism in your own country.
Anyway, better part of my brain told me to believe they must be tired but then i noticed them singing and enjoying with others. Believe me, i love all of the positive and a happy vibe but that should not be selective of race. Here you are going out of your way and being sweet to some and non-responsive, rude to others.
If you do not want a certain race of people then put a sign board. We won't bother. But, please respect a guest with basic human etiquettes.
Really, wanted to try the food. Loved the ambience ( the sparkles painted in the trees) but please make your customer feel a human irrespective of the race.
Cheers, love and luck your way, and a billion kisses...

We had visited The Place at Morjim, a few weeks back where we tried some of their amazing dishes! ☺️
Here’s a review of everything we tried! 😋
🥗 Veg Caesar Salad - This was one of the best Caesar salads we have tried!
Romano lettuce with crispy bread & cherry tomatoes, tossed in Caesar sauce and topped with Parmesan Cheese! 🤩
🍣 Vegetable & Cream Cheese Sushi - Cucumber, Avocado, Capsicum, Salad and Cream Cheese, wrapped in perfectly cooked rice and seaweed!
This sushi had subtle yet delightful flavors, which got accentuated with a dash of soy sauce! 🥰
🍗 Chicken with Japanese Teriyaki Sauce - served along with long grain Basmati rice, topped with sesame seeds!
Chicken was cooked well with the Teriyaki sauce, which was mildly tangy, succulent and complimented really well with the Basmati Rice! 😌
🍄 Spaghetti with Mushroom Dill - Perfectly cooked spaghetti with garlic & cream sauce, topped with loads of Mushroom Dill.
It was creamy, with a mild umami flavor from the mushrooms. Adding a bit of seasoning, made the flavors come out really well! 🤗
🍒 Panna Cotta - Sweetened cream topped with a layer of Raspberry compote!
We were really surprised how good this Panna Cotta was! Each spoonful of the cream and compote, was yummy and delicious! One of the best Panna Cottas ever! 😘
🧁Choco Lava with Ice Cream - On breaking the cake, a lava of chocolate oozed out!
It was warm, chocolaty and having it with the Ice Cream made it a perfect end to this...
Read moreCame here for a solo (working) lunch because I've heard a lot about The Place. Was told that their woodfired oven isn't operational until evening, so I had the smoked salmon salad. It's one of the best salads I've had. The dressing was on point, and the portion was generous. I recommend it.
Would've loved to sample more of the menu, but the server who was there at the time seemed disinterested/indifferent to the point of being rude. When I went into the restaurant and asked him to switch on the outdoor fan, he walked over to the switchboard that was next to my table (I'd noticed it, but didn't want to touch it because I don't know what it was for), and half-rolled his eyes. I hope I'm not assuming too much, but I doubt he'd behave this way with white people.
The owner/manager who was sitting at the bar was more attentive. Request the management to train your staff to simply not be rude (that one staff member anyway). Otherwise, the...
