Sea Shell Beach Shack — Restaurant in Goa

Last evening I had the opportunity to dine at Sea Shell Beach Shack, Utorda, South Goa. I ordered a Pork Steak and a Chill beer.

I really loved the Beach side dining experience. Right at the edge of the beach with waters at times kissing your feet. Felt Amazing!!!!!!!

The weather was pleasant with the cold ocean breeze blowing in at times. The beer and the sound of the waves are absolutely a thing to experience. The service was excellent. The beer was served in less than 3 Mins and was absolutely chill. Then the Pork Steak was served in another 15 mins.

The Pork was cooked to perfection. It was tender and succulent and bursting with flavours. The sauce was excellent and balanced to perfection. Slightly tangy. Very different from normal BBQ sauces. I enjoyed every bite of the pork.

The Great food and the sound of the waves in the background, added up to the dining experience. Could see a few planes take off from Daboli Airport and fishing trawler's with their lights on in the horizon. The service and staff are really good. They even asked me to come over during sunset as it's beautiful here. Utorda is very famous for their clean and less crowded beaches. You may find a few canines, but they are friendly. They would come and sit right next to you or under the table. Nothing to get worried about.

We visited this beach shack around 11:30 PM, and despite the late hour, the staff assured us they were open. However, the experience quickly turned unpleasant.

The waiter (possibly the owner) appeared drunk and was overly talkative, asking unnecessary personal questions that made us uncomfortable. When we ordered food, it was stale and tasteless. Before ordering fish, we specifically asked for the prices, but he kept avoiding the question, trying to distract us with random conversation. After some insistence, he finally told us that Sea Bass was ₹4000 and Pomfret was ₹1700—already quite overpriced for the quality.

The real shock came when the final bill was even higher than what we had agreed upon. When we confronted him, he became aggressive and started arguing. To avoid further trouble, we settled on an amount and left.

What happened next was absolutely terrifying. Around 1:00 AM, we realized that a group of men and stray dogs were following us. We ran toward our hotel, which was thankfully nearby, and only when we reached safely did we see that the men following us were actually staff from the restaurant!

This was a horrifying experience, and I strongly advise against visiting this place.The food is terrible, the pricing is dishonest, and most importantly, it is NOT SAFE. Stay...

We were a group of 30 people. I was celebrating my kid’s 1st Birthday & wanted to have something at a beach shack. A booking was made at Zeebop & we were also in touch with the owner for two months regarding the food & other arrangements. When we reached there, we were told that they did have any information about a group of 30 celebrating anything at their place. We tried contacting Zeebop representative. But he did not answer his phone.

We later had to walk down the beach to find a place to celebrate my kids first bday.

Sea shells was the place we researched on. It had the best reviews among the other shacks.

We spoke to Trinity & told her about the situation and she was very accommodating. Her son & the team were very prompt with their service & the food was amazing, fresh & simply authentic. (Goan food) My guests & families had an amazing time & loved the place. We had ordered some Chinese food & authentic Goan food.
