Zeebop — Restaurant in Goa

Zeebop, located in Utorda, South Goa, is a beachfront restaurant with a lovely leafy setting. The restaurant boasts of serving freshly caught seafood prepared in classic Goan style. It is situated between two 5-star hotels, and is surrounded by coconut trees, which make for a lovely setting.

The tandoori white pomfret, Goan fish, or prawn curry are the best we had at Zeebop. However, for the food my i give 6 out of 10, which is not very impressive, especially considering the price. The location and view are rated 9 out of 10. The portions are very small, and the prices are ridiculously overpriced, which is quite disappointing.

Another downside of Zeebop is that the staff, including the manager, is quite arrogant, which is not ideal for customer service. The service at the restaurant is also very slow, which is frustrating when you are paying a premium price for the food.

Unpleasant experience! Please read through A surprise valentine lunch turned out to be a horribly unpleasant experience. We walked in to this restaurant in South Goa called Zeebop for lunch. The place was completely empty and being the first customers for lunch we asked the staff to place a table close to the edge of their property where the view is much better and which they used to do earlier. . They told us that it was against restaurant policy and asked us to stay in the area closer to the kitchen as their service becomes easier. We obliged and orders our drinks. We took our drinks to a beach beds which they had kept at the edge of their property. 10 minutes later a foreigner walked in. We saw the staff placing a table at the exact location where we had asked them to put the table for us. One staff member then told my husband to get up from the beach bed we were sitting on. We couldn’t believe what we were facing, racism??? We told the manager about this obvious discrimination within 10 minutes of having denied us the same arrangement he started making excuses as to how the foreigner was a regular. What is even more surprising is that they denied us the same arrangement stating that if it was done for us then all the other guests would also want the same. Shockingly it seems that the restaurant was willing to have a foreigner sitting in the location that we had requested. The entire experience was absolutely horrible for us!!! Zeebop is a very classsy restaurant on the beach. The place is surreal and neat. The food and cocktails are impressive. It's a great environment to unwind yourself.

Like all shacks, seafood is the main highlight at Zeebop. Stick to grilled tiger prawns, curries with rice, fish fillets and coastal food (they’ve got a small section of north Indian food too). Their cocktails and wine list is impressive, and their service doesn’t disappoint at all.
