We were a group of ten people that visited The Goan Fish Cafe during our office lunch hour, looking forward to a delicious meal after checking out their instagram page and Google account. After we placed our order we had to wait for over an hour after which our food started arriving one dish at a time, some taking even upto 90 mins . When we asked the owner why the food took that long he replied rather rudely saying that one hour isn’t too long to wait for continental food and that he needed that much time to “freshly prepare” the dishes. After our long wait, we found that most of the food that finally arrived was either extremely salty or misinterpreted in the menu. We are pretty sure that the ‘Ravioli al salmon’ had no salmon, the honey mustard prawns were drenched in mustard and the chicken mortadella sandwich has no sign of the mentioned pesto. We were compensated with a discount on our bill, but it still didn’t make up for the lost time, the attitude of the owner and the not-so-great tasting food. The only dishes we enjoyed were the cheese corn cigar rolls and the french fries. Definitely not revisiting the Goan Fish Cafe, and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who wants to grab a delicious meal during their...
Read moreThe bar and restaurant started about a year back or just after the COVID. The restaurant is located on the main road of Panaji-Mala and close to the community centre. The food is good and they serve different fish thali with range from Bombay duck, mackerel, sole fish to kingfish and red snapper. Also they serve alcohol and beer and can check out for some offers in case you are lucky. The quality is okay and with a slow service ( but this can be added as fresh food) for the last time we had ordered the squid was a bit uncooked but they were kind enough to cook the meal.
The ambiance is simple as it's located in a building structure ( and not a old house or farm) They do have space for packing and the...
Read moreA no frills restaurant serving excellent sea food. Was on the lookout out for a local eatery in panjim serving authentic goan thali.. Surprisingly they offer sea food thali even for dinner which is quite rare.. The Thali was pretty satisfying and included most of the regular dishes, like kismoor, prawns curry, vegetable, etc. And a dessert. The piece of fish fry, (in this one was Modso) was pretty big in size. We also had King Fish rawa fry. They gave three large pieces and the fish tasted absolutely fresh.. 10/10 for the food, will surely suggest this restaurant if you are a thali/ sea food lover.. I am hoping they always maintain this quality of freshness and taste...
