We were visiting temples located in old goa and were looking for restaurant to have our lunch. It was a Sunday and probably due to Covid we were struggling to find a good place to eat. Considering options from google Maps we finally landed at The Goan Majestic. The place is centrally located and we were able to find it conveniently. It is a small set up with option to dine inside or in the open. We were a family of six n there were limited options available. We were provided with a table just opposite the counter which was not very comfortable. There were Swiggy n Zomoatos entering n exiting every now n then. The room had an AC but it was not effective and we were all sweating. We ordered for food n found service fast. The Starters, blue lagoon n vergin mojito were good but the main course were a bit of disappointment. We had ordered Veg Manchurian n panner chilly n they were served hot n delicious. In the main course we ordered Panner Kadhai, Dal fry n Veg Makhanwala along with naan, paratha, kulcha n fried rice. The currys were disappointment though fried rice was nice. Given the limited options in Ponda it was ok experience for us. The place serves non veg but we had not tried them during our visit n hence will not be able to comment. Read moreGoa Majestic in Ponda is a decent option when compared to other restaurants in the area, but there are some drawbacks that impact the overall experience.
Ambience and Comfort:
The restaurant's air conditioning is not very effective, making it uncomfortable at times, especially during the hotter parts of the day.
Food and Drinks:
We tried the Virgin Mojito and Fruit Punch, which were just okay.
The Chicken Manchow Soup and Chicken Crispy were average in taste.
The Prawns Rava Fry was decent, though the portion size was small and not particularly remarkable.
The Chicken Cafreal and Roti with Chicken Xacuti also okay, lacking the flavor depth expected from this dish.
The Egg Fried Rice was good and among the better dishes we had.
Service:
Service was slow, and we had to remind the staff of our orders multiple times.
After placing our order, there was a long wait, even for simple items like a bottle of water, which took nearly 25 minutes to arrive.
Overall Impression:
While Goa Majestic offers some good dishes, the service and comfort level need improvement. It's a decent choice for dining in Ponda, but patience with the service is necessary. The restaurant has potential, but attention to detail and efficiency would enhance the experience...
Read moreI recently dined at The Goan Majestic Hotel in Ponda, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The food quality left much to be desired; all chicken dishes were overcooked and dry, and the portion sizes were disappointingly small. The Squids rava fry was more Rava than squid, and the mixed fried rice had an overpowering seafood smell. Even the French fries were stale. The only saving grace was the veg sweet corn soup and prawns curry rice, which were edible.
The service was another letdown; it was nothing short of terrible. I had to repeatedly ask the waiters for warm water, and even then, it took multiple reminders. To make matters worse, when I ordered one full vegetable soup, the waiter brought only half and then openly combined the two halves in the same small bowl, serving me a messy soup.
To top it off, the food was exorbitantly priced for its subpar quality. Overall, I would strongly advise against visiting this restaurant. Instead, I recommend trying Abhiksha, located immediately to the right of The Goan Majestic Hotel. They offer amazing food and top-notch service, providing a far more enjoyable dining...
