We visited this place after it being recommended and checking reviews. Soon as we went in there's this stench ( sweat + food+ dust) which is something you put up with to still eat, especially if you wanna grab a bite after a long day. Overlooking this, the host and hostess are extremely warm, we were the only people at the time. We tried to figure what to eat and debating after a while the host recommended mutter paneer & the palak chicken ( which we thought to be, palak thinly chopped in a home cooked chicken gravy ) from what they communicated. so this was like a miscommunication because, once the food came out it was a palak gravy with chicken, and the chicken was not cooked very well ( almost raw in some places) along with chapattis. The food took forever to come out. Be prepared to wait for over an hour, and we learnt, this is because there is absolutely no help staff, no waiters, no sous chef's. It looked like, a sore plight. But also felt bad, just because of how long it took for the food to come out and this being a home cook establishment. Now i will say this, with home cooking establishments, this is to be expected and we don't take away credit from the fantastic job the couple were trying to do. It's a brave act to follow through, alas, that's where the proof of the pudding lies. I'm afraid the chapattis were very hard and the dish underwhelming. We didn't wanna say anything, considering the plight of the kitchen. The couple themselves are very gracious and want to make conversation to make their guests feel comfortable, i wish the food stood out as well. The place is extremely dirty and very very very dusty. One really tries hard to focus only on the table so you can ...................Eat. I know there have been wonderful reviews, but also perhaps because this is what comes closest to North Indian food in the south of Goa, perhaps. I also wish they'd have cleaner clothes on, or an apron because it's just stains everywhere. The bathroom is outside the establishment which is locked, so one has to get the keys unlock and use it... Not clean at all and there wasn't any light. Lock it again and put the keys on the desk. The place is expensive ( basis the food, ambience and cleanliness) and we were surprised by the pricing. I will say while this review may seem a Lil severe, the hostess is very very sweet but it's an honest review and i hope they up their game :) i say this with a lot...
Read moreThe food was awesome. There is nothing to complain about. It's just that there is no AC which is sometimes bit difficult in summer but we were able to manage with Cooler. Also we see that there is no other person other than the uncle and aunty. This Punjabi couple was taking care of everything so you may see some delay in the order initially however this can be overcome by deciding and then giving the complete order once; you can definitely do this if you get really good food. Luckily we went there when there was no rush. Total 6 tables are there. Both the persons are so kind and ask about the taste of the food served. We had kadhi pakode, Lassi, Daal Makhani, Paneer Butter masala, Laccha Paratha, Tawa roti (wheat) and then Kokan sharbat of very different and nice taste. I was striving to get pure wheat roti in Goa and I got fresh tawa roti from the tawa to my plate directly. They used Malai Paneer so it was very soft and yummy. One may say that in Goa, why to worry about food so much 😀 but the people who want to eat pure veg will definitely understand my feelings 😀. Honestly speaking, I lost hopes about getting good north Indian food in Goa however we were fortunate to find this small restaurant managed by a sweet couple whole n sole. It is also reasonable. Those who like North Indian food should visit this place and enjoy the tastey food. If I revisit South Goa, I will surely go this restaurant again. I am cutting 1 star just because of AC and interior as it may be priority for few people though I was happy with whatever I...
Read moreOnly Authentic north india resturant in Goa. Not only north meal but also mouth watering street food like gol gappas, aaloo chat everything is amazing. I was amazed with the French fries aaloo chat. The food served here are one of the finest you will find in the city. I ate everything I could. You will find so many options like south indian, chinese, sweets, beverages etc. Absolutely adore this place and I really miss that taste now. This is just the perfect blend of affordable dining with amazing taste and justified quality. They used home made paneer, ghee, butter for everything and the quality of food justified it. All the milk products are heavenly tasty. The paneer sabzi and lachha paratha are the highlights of this place, and a must try. A place to eat chat and have a good time definitely. I was there for four days in South Goa and I used to go everyday and they also serve complimentary dishes without even asking. Their baigan bharta is amazing and palak paneer is too good. All items are amazing and prices are also affordable. It's not a restaurant it's more like a palace where Raja and Rani servers you food with their heart. They both are very humble and sweet you will feel like you're having food at your home. I would love re-visit my home cum...
