Shalom to all! We stayed at D7 La Serene during our stay in Goa during which we proclaimed the return of King Yeshua and the Wedding Feast of the Lamb with tallit and shofar in hand!
During our stay, we stumbled upon a gem called Saborosa. In Spanish, this means "delicious". The restaurant truly lived up to the spirit of its name!
The atmosphere is quaint and homely yet classy and youthful without being pretentious. The colors inside, the wooden table decor, and the plants ๐ชด beckon you to relax, stay, and enjoy your meal. The music delighted also - a great mix of different tastes.
We ordered the hummus as an appetizer. I didn't expect to find such a quality hummus outside Persian cuisine. For the main course, we enjoyed the chicken lasagna. I don't know how they manage to serve and cook a fresh lasagna in less than an hour; whatever the secret, the pasta rendered al dente with perfect texture and consistency. The sauce proved quite delightful also; it was savory rather than sweet, which is a welcome change from commercialized pasta sauces. For dessert ๐จ, we ordered the serradura, a traditional Portuguese treat, and the chocolate salami. The serradura took the cake, no pun intended. The chocolate salami was great too particularly if you love chocolate. It was a bit too rich for me but I don't have much of a sweet tooth. The two mixed together bring heaven to the palate.
We also had the privilege of visiting during a slow day, which allowed us to meet the owner, Mazy. She's wonderful, sweet, hospitable, and quite knowledgeable. We had the honor ๐ to be personally served and waited on by her. She pours her heart into everything from the menu, to the decor, to ensuring you feel welcome and appreciated. Her recommendations excelled. My recommendation to her:
Be present and visit every customer's table and make each guest feel special and unique. You're the star of the show and your restaurant will thrive even more if you invest laughs and conversations with every guest the way you did with us.
If the Holy Spirit brings me back to Goa from America, I will definitely visit Saborosa again. But if King Yeshua returns first then hallelu YAH! Until then, blessings and shalom from ืืืื, the God of all gods, upon this restaurant, its owner, and...

ย ย ย Read more"Saborosa by Mazey Sequeira", recently launched, is a hidden gem tucked away in quiet corner of tranquil Benaulim. I happened to chance upon it as I was booked to stay at D7 La Serene Hotel and this was the restaurant on premises.
Chef/Proprietor Mazey Sequeira has put together a place that has a beautiful Goan-European menu along with an ambience that is grounded, classic, elegant and uplifting all at once!
My group had breakfast on 7 days during our stay, and dinner on a few other days. Mazey and her team pull out all the stops in providing guests an experience of care and warmth that can only be associated when you visit a dear relative's place.
Everything on the menu is cooked to perfection and satisfies the eyes as well as the taste buds. A pleasant surprise on the menu are some classic Indian favourites like Butter Chicken or Puri Bhaji - which I thought was sticking out like a sore thumb on the otherwise Goan-European menu. But even those were top notch and true to their authentic roots in taste and presentation.
Amongst the desserts, the Serra Dura is several notches higher than the ones I have had in other restaurants in Goa. Alle Belle, Chocolate Salami and Chocolate Mousse are simple but surprising in how nicely they are put together. Chocolate Salami and Serra Dura were reordered by our group!
Overall, if you are looking for a nice fine dine experience where food and the diner's experience are given highest importance, then visit Saborosa at D7 La Serene, Benaulim. And be willing to be surprised by the brightness and warmth that you receive...
