As u knw gk2 is well known hub for nowadays as daily new things coming out in a form of a restaurants here. I heard alot about this place from my few foodiee frinds tht u must try this a best place for southern cuisine so today I gone there with my best friend in the evening n give a try on my foodie scale lets check out it's worth .
So I came here in the evening booked my table earlier . Then as I enter it's a small casual dining restaurant with cute n simple decor on wall sides n simple yet comfortable seating . They have very well trained staff having a proper knowledge of what they are serving to their client. But I must say little bit more attentive ness required in staff rest everything is fine tht my personal view point .
Now about food n drinks in starting I had butter milk tht gud chilled welcome drink for me but need bit more current of spice in it. Then I ordered dahi wada best dahi wada after along time must try guys don't miss this seriously .
Then plain idlli sambar along with their in house Chutney I loved the green one my fav. As others too but I loved green chutney then coconut one.
Then we try papad rasam nor n gud works as soup in winters . Then we try staff recommend dish bambot n one more dish dosa which seriously I loved but heavy too based of garlic paste n some other few things along like cinnamon n butter with sambar n chutney all 3 kinds then manina maga other fav dish but it's a different type of dosa like upptam from uppr side n bottom dosa but soft n fluffy.
Then we had paddu sort of cute rice balls a must try dish u guys love it crispy n fried but when u break it softer from inside .
Now on deserts part we try keasar baith a all time best n light version of desi halwa like in Punjabi house u get brown halwa but here u get yellow halwa but in little balls type stick together n then we tried their home made icecream few small portion of 4 types of icecream mango, coconut, strawberry n rose n chiku all flavours r wow yummy types but I love strawberry n rose flavour .

From the minute we sat down, the waiters had been ignoring us for no apparent reason, and acting very rudely. We had to literally shout from our table multiple times just to get them to bring water, menus, and take the orders... and it was NOT busy, there were empty tables and a handful of staff standing around at the counter at all times, doing sweet nothing. The manager was seated uselessly at one of the empty tables.
After we finished our meal, we sat for maybe 5 minutes while we had coffee, and soon after a waiter came over --- displaying an urgency that had been completely absent up until then --- to clear our tables in a huge rush.
In this unnecessary and careless rush, he spilled two or three katoris of sambar on one of us, covering her hair, down her back, her arms, feet... and covering the pants of one other friend. Everyone was in shock, including other diners.
The waiter did nothing. Did not apologise or act sorry, made no move to help, just stared and walked off without a hint of remorse.
Meanwhile, all the other waitstaff are staring, no one is apologising, no one is doing a damn thing.
Finally my friend walked to the bathroom to clean herself off, still not being offered help. She called for help and I went in, finding paper towels and napkins to wash and wipe it all off.
THE WAITSTAFF AND MANAGER ARE STARING AND SMIRKING, BUT SAYING AND DOING NOTHING. They did not offer a kind word, much less a discount.
We were obviously angry and made a fuss after the total lack of response from anyone in the restaurant, to which they again responded with total apathy.
I cannot imagine waitstaff in any self-respecting city in the world behaving like this to guests for no apparent reason. It was beyond pathetic.
Shame on these people, disgusting behaviour.
And you know what else? The food was mediocre....
Read moreWent out there with family for an easy dinner on a fine Saturday evening. The place was teeming with people. Had to wait for 5 minutes outside the place standing. The place is located on ground floor of Greater Kailash M-Block market. Luckily, we were able to find parking just opposite the restaurant. There are four stair steps that one has to climb, though side railing is there for support but a little pavement before it can be hindrance for people who walk with calipers and walking stick like myself. The place is NOT wheel chair accessible like most of our Indian food joints. People spend crores on embellishments but don't spend iota of their time Or brains on making these places inclusive for a sizable #disabled population of India. However this disabled population is called Divyang. The furniture could have been more comfortable. The tables are okay, made of brass. The chairs are hard. The decor is good. Since it's almost end of October, the atmosphere was cosy. The staff was courteous and service fast. All the items were prepared in pure ghee. The dosas are served with three kinds of chutneys. I personally liked original coconut chutney. The Dahi vada was sweet. The malleshwaram dosa will make you remember parantha made of homemade ghee residue. I found it awesome. The ghee roast dosa is served with potato masala on the side NOT inside. One has to ask for saambar, they don't serve suo motu. The podu are fried idlis like balls. The kesri bath was like light suji halwa. Generally, you feel hungry after an hour or two when you have had South Indian meal. However, this is the first instance when I felt full even when going to bed. Worth giving a try once. You won't regret it. All the same, I would prefer dosa in Lal Sai Market, Lajpat Nagar anytime over any upscale restaurant in Delhi. Street food beats restaurants...
