Railway Yard The Mid Night Cafe — Restaurant in GT Karnal Road Industrial Area

The place is situated in GT Karnal road industrial area and is not easy to locate unless one uses google maps or is residing nearby the said area. The ambience is good as well as the wall decorations with the Indian Railways concept. The best part is the hindi puns on the walls and the beams. The food was really good. I had ordered dal makhni and paneer lababdar which were served in earthen pots (haandi) kept on sizzler plate with live charcoal to keep the food warm. The naan and parathaas were extremely good. Spice in the food was perfect, I. E. neither too much spice nor tasteless. The sweet dish was not so good. One thing I strongly oppose is the mandatory imposition of service charges by the restaurant, which is illegal, unethical and an unfair practice. Worse was that the owner said in a very harsh tone "IT IS MANDATORY AND YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY SERVICE CHARGE. YOU CAN GO AND FILE A COMPLAINT BEFORE CONSUMER FORUM. THE SUPREME COURT HAS LEGALIZED IMPOSITION OF SERVICE CHARGE". Such a behavior was unwarranted and could had been avoided. That's why I am giving only three stars. The best thing about this place is that it opens till 3 a.m and serves really fasty food with good quantity . Consider it a life saver when you return from clubs late at night . The only bad point is the place where it is located .Although it hard to find but the food is worth it . The decor of the restaurant is also really nice and there is no issue for parking . The food is not that costly and quite inexpensive . If you really late and dont want to eat packaged or processed from stores like twenty four seven and want to have a proper meal while sitting in nice environment with quick service and really tasty food. I myself recommend to try butter chicken and stuffed naan . Although you may need to call them and ask for directions cause route is little tricky.But the location is not a problem if you are visiting at night but if you are planning for proper dinner with family then it might the place to want to visit. The crowd late at night mostly consist of guys who maybe drunk , from my experience most crowd was drunk when I visited the place. Location - In Gujranwala Town and best way to reach is via your own vehicle as the nearest metro station is atleast 2 to 3km away. Moreover it is located in isolation and on a road which is all dug out and may seem shady if you give a visit at night.

Food - We ordered Matki Chicken haandi and it was really good. Half of it had around 4 to 5 pieces with enough of gravy, so it was quite filling. Rotis were good as well.

Price - Slightly on higher side when compared to any usual good chicken place. Plus they have a mandatory service charge of 10% added.

Service - Not really good as we had to poke multiple times for few things. There wasn't really any manager but a few waiter boys collectively managing it.

Ambience - It was good but we felt a little too dark, rest you can check from the pictures below. Seating capacity of 30 people at a time, so it is small.

Parking - Ample of parking space available as it's located...
