Updated review in Nov 2024: I had high expectations based on my previous visits, but my recent experience was disappointing. Ordered Masala Uttapam and Dahi Wada. • Dahi Wada: Extremely basic—just dahi and wada with no raw spices or seasoning to elevate the flavor. It lacked the balance and taste one expects from this dish. Definitely a 1/5. • Masala Uttapam: It was passable but nothing extraordinary. A standard 3/5 at best.
Additionally, they’ve now shifted the seating to the ground floor, which is cramped and congested with limited tables, making the dining experience uncomfortable.
While they were once a go-to place for authentic South Indian flavors, the quality seems to have dropped since moving to their new location. Sadly, I won’t be visiting again anytime soon.

1 year old 5/5 star review: One of the oldest south-indian cafes in the town. Previously, they were based near Sursagar & Fire Station.
They are mainly known for their famous puna-misal dish. But, they have large varieties of dosas and uttapam available. Their new location started near Akota /Dandia Bazaar bridge is quite spacious and has downstairs (waiting area) and upstairs (for dine-in seating).
Now, they even serve pav bhaji and other Indian cuisine alongside dahi wada, dosas, utappams and much more.
Do give it a try, I am pretty sure you will like the taste of uttapams, dosas, dahi wada and puna misal; rest I haven't got a chance to taste.
For puna misal, they say that it doesn't taste good after they moved to their new location. But, one can only confirm once they try it by themselves. I am not sure as I haven't ordered the puna misal yet at...

Read moreThis is a lovely bistro.Although the name is Canara coffee house it doesn't serve coffee. The main speciality of this place is 'Poona Misal' (पूना मिसल) which is a delicacy of Marathi origin. If you ever visit this place you should definitely try it. The other food served here is mainly South Indian I.e Dosa , Vada Sambhar, Idli Sambhar , Uttapum etc...And there are Gujarati dishes also like 'Bataka Vada ' and 'Petis'. The Sambhar is the best I ever had... Usually people gulp down 2-3 bowls of hot Sambhar(good for your throat). The masala (stuffing) they put inside Masala Dosa and Masala Uttapum are very tasty.. This place is very economical also...Once you go to this place..You will want to go over and over again 😊 ..It might be difficult to find it as it has been shifted adjacent to its previous place. But the directions on Google map...
