Ordered dal bati and what I got looked like bati’s malnourished cousin. These things were so tiny, I’ve seen chapatis with more muscle. Normally, you struggle to finish one full bati — here, I polished off four and still had room like I just finished a starter. Had to order two extras just to remind myself what being full felt like.

Oh, and the best part? Each extra bati is ₹30. So by the time you’re actually full, you’ve spent ₹230 on a plate that tastes like someone whispered “dal bati” into hot water. Honestly, the flavor didn’t even try to keep up with the price. Walk five steps in either direction and you’ll find a place that knows what real dal bati is — and won’t require a loan...
