Where do I start... To be fair let me list the good things: The restaurant was clean. PERIOD
Now to the point:
The chair I was sitting in was broken a bit. When I informed, seemed like the staff knew but just didn't care to change it before spoken about. They replaced the chair, which was the right thing to do.
When I was ordering the food, I ordered 3 drinks, a soup, a starter, a sizzler and cheese naan, with clear directions to only bring the sizzler and cheese naan once the soup and starters was consumed. Guess what? The sizzler(which was completely dry and not sizzling) arrived before the starter. So I obviously asked one of the staff why this was as I had asked for a specific sequence. They ended up having a discussion amongst themselves and decided that the person who took the order was at fault and should be the one to talk to me. It took them another couple of minutes to get that person to our table. He had no answer to it all apart from saying that our starter was also here and ended up serving everything. Such is the care we got from the staff.
During this wait of ours since we had ordered our food, the staff were standing next to us as we had the table next to their kitchen door. Which obviously isn't a problem, unless you could hear the staff debating over their tables and who is supposed to do what.
Lastly, I paid the bill by card and the staff member who handled my card, have me a receipt to sign. The receipt clearly said "signature not required". As soon as I pointed that out, he said its okay and took the machine and bill. That was just plain weird and shady!
I might sound like I am only here to complain, but this is what my experience was there last night and I didn't enjoy any of it. They need to...
Read moreAttention Barodians!!! There must be an option to give rating in negative, I would have given negative 5 stars for the most pathetic experience ever that I have had today at Havmor - OP Road. People go to restaurants not only for food but also experience. Unfortunately at this restaurant both food and experience were pathetic. Staff and manager here doesn’t care about their customers and they have excuse for everything. Soup was super spicy, starter was dry and had very less stuffing, when asked for extra sauce to gulp the starter, they brought it after 10 mins literally. Bread was hard as rock and bhaji had weird taste and I am assuming some color also. Chole/chane had oil as major ingredient, they should name it “chane swimming in oil” dish. We had to come out with half belly empty and we went to another place after that to eat proper dinner. Not only us, the family sitting on the table next to us also had complains about the food, they also left half of the food as we did. There was regret seen on the staff’s face, infact they were seemed not bothered at all. There is no greeting or good byes from the staff, they don’t look at your table once you have ordered the food, even to ask for cutlery you have to wait for them. Another important point, when We asked for regular water they said they don't serve regular water and gave us a packed bottle and also changer us for it, strange! To our surprise, the rates here are sky high, its double the rate any amazing restaurant has in Baroda. Guys its not worth at all to go to this place, save your money here and give business to better restaurants who work hard to serve you excellent food...
Read moreHavemor Restaurant - A Decent Dining Experience with Flaws In Vadodara, Havemor Restaurant is a popular establishment, and offers food from the regions of Indian, Chinese, and Continental. The restaurant is celebrated for its reputation, but I think my experience itself has a fair mix of commendables, and non commendables. Ambiance & Atmosphere The decor at the restaurant is somewhat modern and at least inviting enough, it does bring any interesting charm to the experience. The restaurant seating is sufficiently comfortable, but during peak hours, it could be packed and noisy. The lighting, although decent, could be better, and the overall ambiance does lack compared to other fine dining places in the city. Food Quality & Taste The menu presented a number of options and varieties. They offered solid options with India curries, Chinese stir fries, and Continental options. The food was decent yet did not live up to be a memorable experience. Some dishes, like the paneer tikka, and butter naan, were good. However, some other items like noodles and pasta, could have possible been different from what their description was composed as, including flavor, and authenticity. Portions were decent, but presentation could have been crisp. Service & Staff Staff is friendly, and overall decent wait staff on their part, but service was not the most speedy especially during peak hours. I waited longer than I expected my food, and repeated some...
