Kai Asia - Vivanta Vadodara — Restaurant in Gujarat

The restaurant had a very elegant ambience. Well decorated and peaceful. Also, all covid norms were very carefully maintained. We started of with their Tom yum gram soup: flavours were strong but still very soothing. Perfect way to start a meal. Next, for appetizer we ordered Chicken takrai: this will be a perfect example of crispy outside and soft inside. It's garlicky texture was something I loved the most. Tempura prawns: jumbo fleshy prawns lightly coated and fried till golden brown which they served with a hot sauce. This will surely be a delight for any prawn lover. Lastly for main course we had Pla rad prik with steamed rice: It was a thai fish gravy. Fish was lightly coated, fried and dipped in this distinctly flavour gravy. Specifically loved the texture of the fish. Overall it was a really good experience and I would love to visit many more times. The only reason I settled for a 4 star rating was the over use of lemon leaves. I mean initially I liked it but so many leamon leaves in every single dish was kind of annoying...

Charged us 400 for 2 mineral water bottle, when informed them that you cannot charge against mrp of 19 rupees as per government rule, the manager came to show a stupid december 2017 post of special leave for hotels against this rule as a probability. They talked about 5star service but the person who took the order did not at all know how to behave or take orders. When asked for chef specials, he started teaching me what is japanese food. When we asked them to remove the extra cost for mrp against mineral water against 5 star rules the manager came and fought as well as argued with us. Against 7000 rupees bill, they fought to not remove 360 rupees because they wanted to charge 400 rupees for 19 rupees bottles. Food was great but their standard...

Kai Asia is a Great 5 star restaurant with zero star hygenie. I wish I had a way to rate them less than a star. 😂. We ordered manchow soup, Hakka noodles and Veg Sushi platter. Our first dish came was manchow soup and then came the Veg Sushi platter a garnish of Hair. Look for the second picture or zoom this one on the rolls. Lost appetit immediately and left from there. The manager was very apologetic but it ruined the whole evening and mood for the Chinese and Japanese food. Not sure if we will be ever able to come out of this trauma and even think about visiting kai asia. Such big brands like Taj, with such careless hygenie and maintenance...
