My ratings don't say much, so here a little more on it:
Brief: To be visited Once in Ahmedabad at the very least, especially if you re a fan of Japanese Cuisine like Myself, I in fact went with a a Dineout discount, so was worth it, Food, Service, and Atmosphere are good enough if not great.
The average ratings are due to circumstances during my visit and will not happen every time. Do read the detailed version below if you have time.
Detailed:
Food: The Food, especially the Sushi was great, freshly prepared, probably the best I have had in Ahmedabad, and the best dish of that night, wished I had ordered a second set rather than ordering other dishes, presentations are fantastic, dishes are great, felt as close to authentic Japanese as possible, The Food apart from Sushi felt not the best, I believe they can make it better though, for the price and expectations from a 5-Star place.
Service: The Service was great till the time we were the first, the shift manager especially tended to us gracefully, always had a smile, and tending to our needs to a great extent, even making sure to get us a great family photo for the night he had a very polite tone and humble behavior as expected of 5-Star Fine-Dining Experience. But ... It all started going downhill from the moment it got slightly busier, we had to wait 3-5 minutes before someone noticed us and addressed to us, even the waiters were a bit aloof I felt, the simple reason: they were understaffed, with one manager and 2 waiters, doing everything from managing the register, bookings, taking orders, to serving and cleaning tables, in defense of the employees this would make it hard for them to manage for a 5-Star place, in such a case they could have had added at least one more person to help manage the floor if they were unable to handle the sudden rush (6-8 tables) at least someone specific for handling the reception or the cash register, had to wait almost 10 minutes before someone had brought out our bill, this was not within my expectations.
Ambience: Great, Authentic, and the decor just amazing, vibes matched a Fine-Dining Experience. The reason for it being Average would be the wedding going on in Renaissance Hotel, the Music being loud, and no proper measures being taken for sound-proofing, even the balcony door was ajar, not closed properly, causing much of the sound to enter from down below.
Prices: As expected of a 5-Star Experience, on the higher side, but at the very least visit it out once and decide for yourself. It is a great place to visit, its just the circumstances during my visit were not the best (inattentiveness due to it being a little busier, the atmosphere being ruined due to the wedding Music) forcing me to give out an average rating rather than a 4/5.
Do try it out for yourself at least once before judging, most probably you will have a better experience than myself, especially for the fans of Japanese Cuisine....
Read moreThis restaurant has completely gone down in both food quality and service. We came here multiple times before Covid, and it was amazing…One of the best dim sum we have had in India. Today, the quality and taste of the dim sum was much below average…chewy/rubbery, no flavor to the stuffing, and they didn’t give us any sauces or dips until we requested. The chef has surely changed. We had made a reservation for 8:30, but when we arrived, the table had not been prepared even though there were only 2-3 other parties eating at that time. The service was incredibly slow (while restaurant was not full), and food that should have come out as appetizers came out at the end as we were ready to pay the bill. Multiple items on the menu were not available. We ordered 2 pina colada; 1 was brought out, and after another 30 minutes (after we reminded staff multiple times that we needed one more), we were told they wouldn’t be able to make the second one because it took too long. We had to ask for the bill 3 times, and even then, they didn’t start making the bill until we approached the computer kiosk directly. And when we shared our experience with the assistant manager at the end, he only made excuses that they were too busy (when the restaurant, again, was not at capacity). We were a party of 7, and this was definitely not worth the amount we spent on this dinner. We had also mentioned on the phone that we would be celebrating a birthday, but no attention was given to that detail either. At this point, we will not be returning nor will we recommend this restaurant anymore. I certainly do hope management takes note and tries to improve the situation from...
