Let’s start with the waiting time usually there is a waiting for 20+ minutes if you are visiting on weekends and be prepared to sit outside in this hot weather as they have no waiting area for customers. One is supposed to sit outside the restaurant and wait for your table to be ready. I am not sure they take reservations for table on phone.
Ambience of the restaurant is very basic with minimalist interior and does not give a fine dine vibe at all .The place is very congested as you can feel that there are more tables laid down as compared to floor size. The tables are so close to each other that you can easily hear the conversation of your next table and vice versa.
Waiters are not very well aware and trained about the menu and you have to rely on your gut feeling that whatever you are ordering will be good. I am specifically pointing out this point because majority of the guests are not very well aware with the complex Japanese dishes names and their ingredients so a helpful suggestion from a waiter or captain is very much needed. Also the table to waiter ratio was huge there were merely 4-5 waiters for more than 12+ table which is purely visible in the chaotic behaviour of servers and you have to wait for more than 5+ minutes just to order or and have to constantly bug up the server to fill up your glass of water. It can be due to weekends and may be the other reason is they have huge takeaway orders too.
Let’s start with the food by our gut feeling and with whatever little information we have we ordered Prawn Tempura Teriyaki sushi for non vegetarian option and Smoked tofu, green apple,Avacado and Gochung glaze sushi for vegetarian option in which we had no Idea what was Gochunga Glaze neither did my server. The prawn tempura was delicious with a tangy taste whereas the vegetarian sushi I found a little bland with a lot of flavour intermingling with each other. (sushi usually comes 8 pieces)
We have avoided dim sums as we find it really expensive and was in no mood to experiment with something we have no idea about and spend 350+ rupees for 4 pieces.
Next we have ordered bowl meals and the portion size as well as price was justified. We have ordered Paneer Santafe Bowl and It was really good. For non veg option we have ordered chicken Japanese Donburi bowl it was really good but I was disappointed because we get the exact same sauce and flavour in bowl what we have got in sushi so it was nice but same flavour for me. Still it was good enough to fill one person and good for the price.
For dessert we have ordered sticky rice, coconut milk and seasonal fruit i.e mango. The presentation of the dessert was exceptional and instagram picture worthy. The taste was par average personally i did not like the combination of sticky rice and coconut milk and it doesn’t fir everyone’s palate.Try to order some other dessert as they have really good options for that.
For 2 people it costs us around 3k. The restaurant is on the expensive side if we look from the perspective of the ambiance and service as it doesn’t come anywhere close to be called a fine dine restaurant. But,the major USP of the restaurant is the novelty, introduction of Japanese cusine in Ahmedabad and quality and taste of food.
It is a good one...
Read more🍜I visited to Loko Rosso in Ahmedabad was nothing short of a gastronomic delight. As a pure vegetarian, finding a restaurant that offers a diverse and exquisite vegetarian menu can be challenging, but Loko Rosso exceeded all my expectations.
🏨The ambiance of the restaurant was inviting and modern, with a touch of elegance that set the perfect mood for a memorable dining experience. The staff was courteous and attentive, making us feel welcome from the moment we stepped in.
😋Our culinary journey began with the Crystal Veg Dim Sum. 🥟These delicate parcels were a visual treat, with their translucent skin revealing the vibrant, finely chopped vegetables inside. Each bite was a burst of flavors, with the perfectly seasoned filling complementing the light and tender wrapper. The accompanying dipping sauces added an extra layer of taste, enhancing the overall experience.😋
Next, we tried the Khaboos Falafel Sandwich. 🥪This dish was a fusion of Middle Eastern and contemporary flavors, with soft, warm khaboos bread enveloping crisp and flavorful falafel patties. The fresh vegetables and tangy sauces added a delightful crunch and zest, making it a truly satisfying and wholesome dish.💫
The Maki & Uramaki 🍱were a testament to Loko Rosso's skill in crafting sushi that caters to vegetarian palates. The maki rolls, with their meticulous presentation and balanced flavors, were a delight to the senses. The uramaki, with the rice on the outside and a variety of fresh vegetables and avocado inside, were equally impressive. Each roll was a harmonious blend of textures and tastes, making it an unforgettable experience for sushi lovers.
🍲For the main course, we opted for the Veg Korean Bibimbap with Tofu. This traditional Korean dish was a vibrant medley of vegetables, perfectly cooked rice, and succulent tofu, all topped with a flavorful gochujang sauce. The dish was not only visually appealing but also a delightful mix of flavors and textures. The tofu was marinated to perfection, adding a rich taste to the already flavorful ensemble. 🥙
To complement our meal, we chose 🥤Kombucha, a refreshing and healthy beverage. Its tangy and slightly sweet flavor was the perfect palate cleanser, balancing the rich and diverse flavors of the dishes we enjoyed. The effervescence of the kombucha added a refreshing touch, making it an ideal choice to accompany our meal.
In summary, my experience at Loko Rosso was nothing short of extraordinary🌟🌟. Each dish was crafted with care and creativity, offering a unique blend of flavors and textures that left a lasting impression. The restaurant's commitment to providing high-quality vegetarian options in a sophisticated setting made it a standout dining destination in Ahmedabad. The ambiance strikes a harmonious balance between modern elegance and a relaxed atmosphere. Aesthetics are intertwined with contemporary design elements, creating a space that feels inviting. Soft lighting and tasteful décor add to the cozy vibe, making it an ideal spot for both casual gatherings and intimate dinners.
The staff at Lollo Rosso were attentive, just a glance was enough for them to come and assist us. Manager helped us with the seating arrangement himself and made sure we are at comfort. Although waiter lacked knowledge about the menu items and couldn't recommend which Sushi is their best, still he tried to guide us through the menu with enthusiasm.
As for food, I had Caesar Salad, Cucumber & Avocado Sushi & Cream Cheese, Spinach with Fried Onions Dim Sums. The combination of cool cucumber and creamy avocado was just amazing. The sushi rice acted as a neutral canvas, allowing the natural flavors of the ingredients to shine through. A subtle hint of wasabi provided a gentle kick without overpowering the delicate balance of the Sushi roll. Caesar Salad retained the traditional elements that make this dish iconic, while introducing subtle twists that enhanced the flavor profile. The creamy Caesar dressing struck a perfect balance between rich and tangy. The Dim Sum were served on an artistically designed platter, enhancing the anticipation of the unique flavors that awaited. The pairing of creamy cream cheese and earthy spinach was an ingenious combination and fried onions were its cherry on top.
While each dish stands out in its own right, the real magic lies in how they seamlessly complement each other on the menu. The ambiance, though not entirely perfect, lends a comfortable backdrop to this culinary journey. With a few minor improvements in pacing and pricing, Lollo Rosso can easily reach five-star status.
It's a must-visit for those with an adventurous palate and an appreciation for culinary craftsmanship. The delicate flavors, combined with the restaurant's inviting ambiance, ensures a memorable dining...
