An enduring religious landmark, the temple reflects a perfect mix of Gujarati, Rajasthani and Sompura architectural styles. This captivating temple draws hordes of believers throughout the country. Devotees can hear constant recitation of holy name of Hare Krishna.

ISKCON A prestigious non profit organization, ISKCON or the International Society on Krishna Consciousness was formed with the aim to spread the Vedic teachings to the general public motivating them to live a peaceful and delightful life.

Also known as the Hare Krishna movement, the organization was founded by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada in 1966 in New York. Initiated as a small community by the Gaudiya Vaishnavas it became a world renowned huge organization within a small span of time.

Several special sessions are held for devotees including people from educational institutes and corporate to spread spirituality and Vedic teachings. These sessions involve teachings based on Holy Scriptures including Bhagavad Gita, Srimad Bhagavatam, Chaitanya Charitamrita and other Vaishnava scriptures. It is attended by several devotees who imbibe and practise the teachings of Bhakta-yoga.

In 1972 A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada established the Bhaktivedanta Book Trust for publishing Vaishnava texts and works on philosophy and culture of Bhakti-yoga. Books are published in different languages for maximum reach.

A spiritual organization commissioned with an intention of engaging devotees into spiritual practise, it has more than 850 temples worldwide today. They have an ISKCON centre in every country of the world. Dating back to five thousand years, the organization also known as the Hare Krishna movement is dedicated to Lord Krishna.

Architecture of ISKCON Temple, Ahmedabad An enchanting temple reflects a perfect blend of Gujarat Sompura as well as Rajasthani Khamira styles of architecture. Tourists entering the temple can see the astounding images of Lord Vishnu and his different avatars on both sides of the walls.

Spread over an area of 1.3 hectares of land it houses the images of Radha and Govinda, Rama, Sita, Lakshmana and Hanuman, Jagannath Baladev, Shrinathji and Subhadraji. Witness the golden idol of Lord Narasimha and Goddess Lakshmi placed before the images of Radha and Govinda.

It has a massive hall extending upto 12000 sq feet that can accommodate around 4000 devotees. Also known as Sri Radha Govinda Dham, it is topped with majestic stone domes with beautiful carvings from Krishna’s life. There are three domes which extend upto 50 feet in diameter.

This marble floored sacred complex has intricately carved windows built in Khamira and Rajasthani Mewas style. The ceilings are beautifully ornamented with several images of Radha and Krishna. Ceilings and the walls of the temple are decorated with murals illustrating stories from Krishna’s life.

I recently visited the ISKCON Temple Ahmedabad (Sri Radha Govind Dham), and it was an absolutely mesmerizing spiritual experience that exceeded all my expectations!

Architecture & Ambiance

The moment you step inside, you're greeted by breathtaking architecture that beautifully blends Gujarat Sompura and Rajasthani Khamira styles. The intricate marble work, stunning murals, and exquisite carvings depicting Lord Krishna's life are nothing short of magnificent. The massive hall can accommodate thousands of devotees, yet it never feels crowded or chaotic.

Spiritual Experience

What truly sets this temple apart is its incredibly peaceful and divine atmosphere. Despite being located near the busy Sarkhej-Gandhinagar Highway, once inside, you're transported to a serene oasis of spirituality. The continuous kirtan creates such a powerful and positive energy that you can't help but feel connected to something greater.

I attended the evening Sandhya Aarti around 8.30 PM, and it was absolutely soul-stirring. The devotion of the priests and devotees, combined with the melodious chants, created an experience I'll cherish forever.

✨ Divine Bliss and Beautiful Architecture at ISKCON, Ahmedabad (Sri Sri Radha Govind Dham) I had a truly wonderful experience visiting the ISKCON Temple on the Sarkhej-Gandhinagar Highway for a local connect meet-up with fellow local guides. As a first-time visitor to Ahmedabad, the moment I stepped inside around 4 PM, the vibe was instantly divine and incredibly soothing. The temple's architecture, a gorgeous blend of Gujarati Sompura and Rajasthani styles, is absolutely stunning! 🏛️ Architecture and Art: A Must-See The temple is an artistic marvel. The main hall is breathtaking with its gleaming marble floors and gold-accented pillars. I was particularly mesmerized by the art: The Deities: The central deities of Sri Sri Radha Govinda are beautifully adorned and a sight to behold. The Walls: The huge, vibrant mural art on the side walls depicts various stories of Krishna, full of colour and detail. The Dome: The intricate circular painting on the main dome, illustrating the Rasa Lila (Lord Krishna's dance with the Gopis), is spectacular.

🙏 Spiritual Experience The highlight of our visit was attending the buildup to the Sandhya Aarti (Gaura Aarti), which generally begins around 6:30 PM. Sitting in the hall, the atmosphere came alive with the powerful, rhythmic chanting and dancing of "Hare Rama Hare Krishna." It was a deeply moving and transformative experience. ✅ Accessibility and Facilities The temple is well-managed with excellent facilities for visitors: Footwear: There's an easy and organized shoe-keeping facility right near the entrance. Washrooms: Clean and well-maintained washroom facilities are available. Water: Drinking water is easily accessible within the complex. Eatery/Prasad: We enjoyed delicious sweets (Prasad) from the Mithaiwala stalls run by the temple trust. The Mandir Seva eatery outside the main temple offers very simple and reasonably priced meal options. Seva & Gifts: Counters for important services like Gau Seva (cow protection) and the Food For Life program are present . There's also a lovely gift shop called "Matchless Gifts."
