Effective rating 4.5
One of the newly opened fine dine restaurants in India that specialises in serving authentic Italian cuisine. Located off Sindhu Bhavan road, the place is easy to locate and has easy access to parking.
The interiors are neatly done and the use of various artifacts and sketches give the place an authentic look. The seating though a bit trendy, can get a bit uncomfortable after some time.
Considering their speciality we tried the following :
Roasted Bell Pepper Soup : Authentic as well as traditional. This one was perfectly what a soup should taste like. 4/5
Minestrone Alla Genovese : A pretty unique version but extraordinary in taste. The soup was thick and cheesy. Surely a must try here. 5/5
Alfredo Pasta : Perfect in taste, this one had the perfect amount of gravy in it not to make the dish dry or saucy. 4/5
Sphageti Arrabiata : My personal favourite. The ingredients used were really fresh and this one had an refreshing taste. 5/5
Lasagna : A pretty different from what you find i in a routine basis. This one was damn tasty. 4/5
Baked Gnochi : A speciality at this place, this one is a must try here. 5/5
Melanzane Al Parmigiana : This one was something different yet tasty. With the base of an egg plant this one might not go well with everyone. 4/5
Coming to the pizzas, the most important thing to note was that all pizzas are made in authentic style with hand tossed fresh bread. The bread in each of the pizzas was absolutely soft and delicious. One could literally fell the taste of the bread. We tried :
Margherita Con Bufala : This one was absolutely authentic with very less amount of gravy. Might not taste similar to the ones generally found in the city but one should surely try this one. 3/5
Pesto : One of the few pizzas that does not contain cheese. This one was absolutely delicious as the Pesto gravy used was really tempting. 5/5
Aglio Olio Pizza : This one suits those who do not like much experiments on their pizza. Tangy gravy with a couple of toppings is all it had but surely tasty. 4/5
Quattro Formagio : This was a cheese lovers delight. This one had plenty of cheese (4 varieties of it) and made this one stuffy. 5/5
Tiramisu : One of the only dishes of the day that let us down. This one was too average and surely not worth the price. 2/5
Chocolate Mousse : Great taste, this one covered up for the tiramisu. 4/5
All in all this place surely deserves and applause for bringing some of the authentic Italian dishes to the city. The prizes were surely a bit in the higher side considering the portion size, however considering the quality of ingredients used, one would not mind spending. The service too was quick...
Read moreGujarat and specially Ahmedabad has become a food hub of the country. Personally, have got a liking for Italian cuisine but typical Italian in Gujarat is bit difficult as most will have an Indian touch.
But the wait is over….
A Mother (Vira Vora) - Son (Pratik Vora) duo from Kolkata has come up with various outlets of Sale & Pepe , Restorante Italiano across Ahmedabad – Pure Veg & Typical Italian restaurant (all the dishes are also available for the Jain people as well)
We visited Thaltej outlet. Ambiance – Spacious and amazing décor giving u an essence of Italy. Staff – courteous and responsive As entered, we came across a shelf of Cheese; huge wood fired oven at one end; paintings all over giving an atmosphere of being present in Italy. Food – Typical Italian taste. It’s a must visit place for the food lovers in Ahmedabad. They use 100% organic products along with 00-flour (very less gluten content) and thus it’s a treat for health conscious as well as foodie people without much compromising on the diet.
Pizzas – hand tossed pizza, cooked in mango wood fired oven. Its bit large in size then normal average pizza size and the most interesting part is here we need to eat it typically by folding it which is the actual way… We tried couple of pizzas topped with perfect portion of veggies and cheese. Simply “Buono”!!!
Pasta & Lasagne were really hot, cheesy and simply “gustoso”!!!
Quantity served will definitely serve 3-4 people at a time. On personal request I also had a round of their kitchen and frankly speaking they strictly maintain the hygiene and cleanliness level to the top.
They also have many options in Soup; Salad; and other Small Plates/Starters. Though we didn’t tried as were more focused in main course and got almost full.
Don’t make it too full as the desserts here are not to miss.
Desserts – EGGLESS Tiramisu; Cheese cake; Panna Cotta; Mousse…. What else u need…. Nobody can differentiate that they are completely eggless. Just a single word “delizioso”!!!
On a price front will cost ~Rs. 1000-1500 for two person but each penny is worth spending. Would prefer to visit in a group so that one can try varieties from all sections.
This is also one of the favorite restaurant for many renowned Gujarati Artists/Actors/Actresses &...

I visited the second new launched outlet located on the first floor, Sun Avenue, Manekbaugh is an elegant restaurant which boasts of a stone and 𝘄𝗼𝗼𝗱-𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗻 that churns out some of the most delish pizzas in the city, with delectable toppings, and also serves 𝗠𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 dishes. Its first outlet was launched 3years ago at Times Square Arcade, Thaltej.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁: Their 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗿 is also something to watch out for! The classical entrance showcases a series of 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝘀𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗲𝗹𝘀 (The more it ages, the more delicious and valuable it becomes—like cash in an interest-bearing account) and the 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗼 𝘄𝗼𝗼𝗱𝘀 on display that signifies the beautiful glow of Italy and gives a tavern vibes.
𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄:
We enjoyed 𝗥𝗲𝗱 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗽𝗲𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗽- Roasted Bell Pepper soup was something that I was craving for a long time and the delicious soup made my day. 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗽 - I never love mushroom dishes but this soup changed my perspective as it gives a smooth texture of the cheese and is highly seasoned with herbs and pesto. 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗩𝗲𝗴𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗣𝗶𝘇𝘇𝗮 - Ingredients are their main differentiators that enable us to offer the best pizza experience and are exclusively made for us with unique preparations giving pizza 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙣𝙤 𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 with a contemporary presentation. Even I enjoyed the side crumbs of the pizza layer with chilli oil. 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮 𝗥𝗼𝘀𝗮 𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗮 - in love with pink sauce pasta, the best combination of tomato and cheese flavour that gives a creamy texture. 𝗦𝗺𝗼𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗮𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗸𝗮 𝗙𝗲𝘁𝘁𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗮 - it's become my favourite one. 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝘀𝗮𝗻 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝘂𝗰𝗲 𝘃𝗲𝗴𝗴𝗶𝗲 𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗼: This dish is made using arborio special Risotto rice. I loved the consistency and texture of this rice dish and the burnt cheese gives a super crisp taste and can be defined as cheery on the top. 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗮 is best for sweet tooth lovers and dessert to cherish with caramel sauce and spiced cranberries. This dish is made using 'agar', a vegetarian alternative to gelatine. I relished sweet-sour and spicy three flavours at a time in one dish.
I can tell they changed the Indian culture of pizza in a whole new...
